It is worth considering to make education more student-centered, in view of an overwhelming trend of ignoring student's feelings during the course of teaching. However, too much emphasis stressed on the student-centered teaching method is both inappropriate and unrealistic.
Admittedly, we should note that students are different. education that are designed to meet the individual needs and interest can help those who are less motivated or find studying boring. many people who are poor(have trouble) in study are extremely intelligent, but they either hate writing or cannot get on well with their teachers or classmates, such and such. if we can solve their problems individually (of individual), they certainly can (will be more likely to) reach their potential. in this case, a more student-centered method can help solve personal problems of studying.
however, an extended notion can make the attempt unimaginable. while the more student-centered method does help a few student with bad performance, it cannot be applied to every student. we can build a simply model to demonstrate that. since students are receiving personal education separately, the people who identify their interest and need, edit suitable context books, and who do the teaching can outnumber all students. the ridiculous result reveals that on the basis of limited teaching resources, the student-centered method cannot be totally accepted.
on the other hand, we should not overlook the fact that even the worst education can bring up an excellent soul. afterall, it is the inner side of a student determines his efficiency on study rather than the outer side. just as an old proverb says: the gold always shines. for the future elites, any form of education can be good enough, and the effort of considering the most suitable education is surely over-input. 这段写得好
in addition, if we impose on the student what we thought is best for him or her, possibly we are impeding his study. the best education always offers the freedom for the students to choose what they think is best for them. think about no more than the college library, it cannot require the student to borrow the classic novels while the student want to read poem or drama. simply put, education offers the soil and water, it is the student's freedom to choose to become rose or unknown weed. what's more, we should also keep it in mind that it is the student himself who cares most about and knows his education, even an expert on education will not be a better decision maker than the student himself. in view of this, the better education is always sought by student automatically rather than given to. 这段最好放在第二段后面,因为你的全文先讲的是students-centered education 的可行性,中间说它的弊端与不必要性,现在又加一段它的好,显得乱,我的建议是放前面
after all these discussion, we can easily arrive at the conclusion that a more student-centered teaching method is well-worthy only in cases that it is imperative. the method is certainly effective on a few particular students, but it will go too far to be applied to every student.
