Interests of scholars and researchers are important.
They are members of society.
Besides, sometimes it is hard to identify the social effect of research immediately.

Along with publishing of various researching papers on journals over the world, there is more and more scientific progress which will promote our society day by day. The process of research is hard and even sometimes harsh for researchers, which calls for scholars' great passion, interest and strong responsibility towards people.

Whether in natural science or social science, researchers all pay for great effort to gain the truth hidden behind complicate evidence. Mostly, it is necessary for these scholars to embrace motive force to guide their way, which is usually personal interest. Interest and curious toward unknown knowledge and mechanism intricate researchers' eagerness to explore the nature and encourage them as a lamp lighting the way forward no matter how idiosyncratic the topic is. Consider the study of high energy physic, researched by some physicists including Zhen Ning Yang who is the Noble Prize holder. The project of research must be based on all participants’ solid comprehension on physic and further careful analysis on the large amount of figures and abstracted theories. “If you find it is bit during the process of research other than interesting,” said Professor Zhen Ning Yang, “you would better stop your step and turn to other direction or field when you are still young.”

Due to the profound mechanisms, this subject being researched could hardly be understood and utilized by society soon. Since research often would account for large amount of money which is significant to other urgent social problems, it is tempting to wonder that is that worthy to investigate in these subjects rooted in researchers’ personal interest without consideration of interest and need of current society? Yet, nobody could predict whether the progress in subjects like high energy, which are pure theory concerned at first, could benefit society later. Take the harsh time of research of Principle of Relativity for instance. The world has changed due to this progress published by Albert Einstein, which seems to totally beyond human’s comprehension at first. Thus it is too early to conclude that these unusual and idiosyncratic researches are of little meaning and a waste of resource and funds.

Besides subjects in certain field referring to some unusual and idiosyncratic research, most of researches should consider the requirement of whole society and large groups of people at first. The primary reason is scholars and researchers, no matter how special and outstanding in relevant fields, they are members of our large society and have to take the responsibility to feed back. When it comes to urgent and obvious problems in current society, such as the cure of AIDS and the effective warning system of earthquake, it is no doubt that scholars should stand out and focus their energy to solve these problems quickly. Additionally, it is necessary for scholars to consider the need of majority of people since some result of researches might bring unwanted consequences like the research of clone technique aiming at human and study of nuclear energy as weapons. Researchers should remind themselves all the time that even though they might not benefit society, at least they should not do harm to large groups of people.



The suitable attitude and method in making choice of subjects of research should accept by scholars and researchers should be the combination of the responsibility towards society and personal interest. Responsibility and personal interest are both effective guide and motivation of beneficial invitation and research. Besides, as most of objects waiting for deep study usually embrace interesting element and marvelous inside, the research of urgent problems in society may also bring about a lot of fun to researchers beyond their expectation before.
