130. How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society.


The enterprise of civil society depends on educating children to become responsible, thoughtful and enterprising. This is a challenging task requiring deep understanding moral values, political theory and economic factor. Progress in every social field depends on having capacities that can educate. Education is a mean to form individual’s personality, social development and humanity’s future progress and prosperity.One’s individual development and capacity to fulfill one’s own purpose can not depend on himself/herself. Education should give a firm foundation for the achievement of personal fulfillment. The better the foundation is built, the more successful the child will be.

But today our education seemingly is confronting several conflicts. For intelligent decision in democratic society, we need an educated population, whereas society changes faster, so what is learned is fast outdated. So this need for universal education further complicates the problems created by growing populations, by increasing the numbers we must consider. One aspect of education that must be considered is that all students are different, with different knowledge, background, interests. Each student should be treated individually. But our current modes of learning provide little individualization. Basically everyone was provided with the same experiences. We only focus on the result that we desire, ignore children’s feeling.

Nowadays there are controversies about the education that our children are receiving. As if we concern intelligence, while we don’t understand exactly that how intelligence is measured and valued in our school system. Academic success and how academic success is emphasized in our schools and society. We concern the performance of children rather than the mental need. Many parents and teachers suppose that material fulfillment is sufficient for children, the children can built their personality and characteristic by themselves with age increasing. A series of problem result from this idea, such as teenagers crime, selfishness, drug taking of teenagers and so on

How can we make improvement in the education process for all children? We should be self-examination firstly. It is only if we consider carefully the problems of education and the capabilities of interactive technology in solving them. We should concern about what our children are thinking, what they want, which kind of person they desire to become. Mental attention is as essential as that of material. Interconnection is also an significant factor that influence children’s thought. The development of society is complicated, which can be influenced by several factors, therefore the education of children must adapt to this variety. From my point of view, the capability of teamwork, thinking things by oneself, leadership and recognization for society is primarily critical for children to learn. We should create a circumstance which children can learn it.

In conclusion, in order to create a better society, our children must know what is a society and how to adapt to the society, then they are educated to built their own spirit and awareness of a society.Finally, children have the capability to create a better society which both they and we are supposed.
