People today spend too much time on personal enjoyment-----doing things they like to do----- rather than doing things they should do.
We have to admit, personal enjoyment has been encouraged nowadays more than ever before. It’s a good tendency after all. However, some criticized that people today spend too much time on personal enjoyment---doing things they like to do---rather than doing things they should do. As far as I concerned, it’s not definitely true. And I don’t agree with the statement.
First and foremost, we need to figure out the definition of things people should do. Most people are hard working, taking care of their parents and children, and to be good citizens. That’s something people should do. People do these well all the time and even better today. The different is that people live harder before and now they learn to enjoy their life much more.
In my point of view, the original purpose of live is to be happy, not something else. I’m not support the idea that one indulged in some entertainment, but life’s meaning is to be oneself and do what someone want to do. Consequently, it shouldn’t be blamed that people spend much time on enjoyment. Take the example of Wang Dan, the chairman of Vanke. He is absolutely a tycoon. Many noted Wang Dan daily job, mountain climbing today, tomorrow fly umbrella, acquired navigation.
Is that mean he spend too much time on personal enjoyment? Of cause not. He also charges the enterprise and has a crucial aspect on China’s property. He knows how to keep a balance between works and enjoyment. Maybe it’s one reason to his success except his business acumen. There’s another true story I once heard. A couple of people worked for different companies. Although they earned high salaries and have achieved some dreams, they are separated and have little time to share the interest in life. Finally, they resigned. They got married, travel together and set up a small shop to sell art ware they like. They said the reason why they made this choice is that the most important thing in life is to enjoy life and be with lover. That’s so impressed to me. The time people spend in doing what they want is never too much. That’s what life is for.

According to all the discussion above, I’m more confirmed the standpoint that people today spend too much time on personal enjoyment----doing things they like to do---- rather than doing things they should do. In addition, I appreciate all the fun in life.

When it comes to being a good teacher, it's general controversy about what makes a person a good teacher. There are a lot of factors that effect on a teacher's capacity. Some people hold the opinion that an excellent knowledge of the subject is the most crucial what a good teacher must have. However, others argue that a teacher's ability to relate well with students is more important than excellent knowledge of the subject being taught. As far as I'm concerned, I quite agree with the latter for the reasons as follows.

First and foremost, teachers' responsibilities are not merely teaching students basic knowledge in one subject. It's much more than that. In my point of view, a teacher should have the ability to get on well with students. A good teacher is also a good friend and the guidance of life for students. Thus, teachers need students to trust them, regard them as friends. If the teachers are too strict, students will be afraid to approach. So relating well with students is very important for teachers.


Second, a friendly teacher is more popular among students. Having a kind teacher, students will be more likely to learn. Consequently, their scores of the courses will be higher. What's more, the relationship with teacher is very important to students. I have heard many true stories about how this relationship has great impact on students. A boy was frightened when he is at school because his teacher didn't treat him well. But his family forced him to go to school. He can't bear it and ended his life. What a pity! Another girl, she is not very smart. Her teacher always praised her. She felt well-being and made great progress. These two examples indicated that having a teacher with good ability to relate well with students help students develop more healthily.

Finally, teachers who have the excellent knowledge of the subject are not good at teaching all the time. Once I met a teacher who graduated from a famous university. He is knowledgeable, but he doesn’t know the teaching methods well. So many students can't catch what he said. His knowledge didn't play the role as what it should be.

Admittedly, the excellent knowledge of a certain subject is one of the basic capacities of teacher. But According to all the discussion above; I firmly insist that a teacher's ability to relate well with students is more important than excellent knowledge of the subject being taught.
