Young people should try several different jobs before they take a long term career.

With the increasing focus on the development of the young people, it’s more and more frequently debated whether young people should try several different jobs before they take a long term career. Some people might right to think that taking the first job as the long term career will benefit young people a lot due to it’s stability. But from my point of view, I prefer to take several jobs before the last long term career.

First and foremost, as a proverb said:”Interests are best teachers”, no one can deny that interets are the best motivation to the young people who need to fight for the future. Never will we know which kind of job interests us most after trying some different jobs. In this course, we may explore our real interests and therefore we can finally choose a job as the long term one which suits us best. My cousin’s story is a good example. After graduating from college, he was so puzzled that he did not know which kind of job he should do, In the next two years, he tried jobs as a computer programmer and a game develpoper but in the end, he found his interested in the human resourses most. Now he is doing very well in the Human Resourse Department of his company.

In addition, the experience of different jobs certaintly can teach us a lot of things which the book and the university can not tell us. Valuable spirits of adventuresome, adaptability and flexibility will be formed. On one hand, such characteristics will bring dramatic positive impact on our career as well as our life. On the other hand, with the lessons taught by the success and failure in the premier jobs, many mistakes can be avoided and we can do much better in our last long term job .

Adimittedly, faced with the increasingly competition in job market, it is not easy to find a job. What’s more, staying in a same job may give more opportunities for advancement. While the course of taking different jobs is tough and it certainly will occupy some time, even a few years.


After ruminating over all these factors, I believe that all the benefits taking different jobs brought to us can overweigh the shortcomings and the time is deserved for we can find our interests, obtain experiences and form precious spirits.

The increased focus on youth development has inspired much debate between job experimentation and long-term careers. Those supporting long-term careers argue for its financial stability; however, from my point of view, trying out multiple professions provides invaluable insight into one's interests, strengths, and weaknesses. Those supportings may be right to think that due to the large amounts of information newspapers and magazines inclueded, we can learn about a foreign counrtry well. However, from my point of view, I do not agree with the idea since multiple choices can be taken into consideration such as living abroad and watching TV.

First and foremost, comparing to those subjective opinion or introduction printed on the newspapers and magazines, I prefer to think that living in the country for an appreciable period of time is the best way to gain an intimate knowledge of a country and its people,
As communcating with the local people, trying to think like a local people, celebrating the festivals with them and living under the rules of that country will definitely help us to grasp every espect of the country. Moreover, this course is vivid, direct and deep. I have found one phenomenon that some of my friends who have ever studied in the foreign country really know the culture and the people very well. And sometimes the information they told us differs a lot from the information the newspapers printed.

However, not everyone has the opportunity and finicial ability to study abroad. In this case, watching TV is another good choice for the TV can privode us beautiful and vivid pictures as well as sounds which is the limitation of the newspapers and the magazines. For example, news report can tell us the new policies and events, toursim programs will lead us to have a understanding of the country in a particular viewpoint, not only the culture and tradition but also the beautiful scenes. Moreover, the TV shows which are produced by the foreign country and introduced to our country give us a chance to understand the history, the life style even the way people think and talk directly.

Admittedly, newspapers and magazines are also good ways to know another country. With the increasing strong connection among different countries, more and more attention are paid. As a result, more and more reports are printed in the newspapers and magazines. However, comparing to the TV and living abroad, reports in the newspapers are limited by the subjective content, less articals and boring style.

A job with more vacation time but a low salary is better than a job with a high salary but less vacation time?

With the rapid economic boom, people are much wealthier than before. As a result, they transfer their attention from the highe salary to more leisure time. A job with more vacation give them much pleasure. However, from my point of view, I prefer the job with a high salary but less vacation time.

First and foremost, making a living is the most vital thing for us young in this society with fierce competition. Low salary can not lead us to a good life. We should burden the responsibility of feeding ourselves as well as our families. Thus, high salary is crutial for us and the vacation is not that important. More specifically, take my uncle for example. Immediately after his graduation, he chose a job which has much leisure time since he didn't want to live a life too hard. But soon he found himself wrong. Without the protection of his parents and school, he need to pay for the rent, the costs for daily expenses and so forth, not mention he had a girl friend which meant the dating payment was large either. With so limitated salary ,it was hard for him to make the ends meet. Learned from this meanful lession, my uncle hunted for another job which has a much higher salary and afterwards his life turned out better, at the meantime, he grown into a mature man.

In addition, we have nothing but energy, enthusiasm and the toletrate of the hardship after our graduation from the colledge since we are young. It is not a time for entertainment but starting our own career. Having too much time for fun will reduse our figting spirit, sometimes it even can form the bad habit of seeking for comfort. High salary but less vacation will encourge us to work hader which not only satisfy ourselves but also our boss. And therefore, more promotion chances will come to us. It defenitely is a benefical cycle.

Admittedly, no on is a working machine, we all need to relax after a long time working. Proper recreation certainly relief us from the intense work and relax our mind as well as body. Therfore,we can plunge into our work again with good spirits. But vacation can not overweigh the high salary for the youth .

After ruminating over all these factors, I prone to choose the job with a high salary but less vacation when we are young. On the other hand, when we reach our professional success and have a happy family, a job with more vacation but less salart may be a good choise.
