First, the writter says that Chevailer cannot be wealthy as he stated in the memoir, because he borrowed a large amout of money from a Swiss merchant. However, the speaker says making a loan doesn't means he was poor. First of all, Chevalier spent a lot of money on parties and gambling. If he doesn't have much money, he cannot do so. Besides, it may take him some time to convert his assets to the money. This point directly contradict to the reading passage.


Then, the writter states that it is difficult for Chevalier to remember a conversation many years ago. There is littlt possibility to remember some exact phrases.
