Do you agree or disagree with the followingstatement? To make children do well at school, parents should limit the timechildren spend on watching TV and movies.

As we know, children are the future of ourcountry. In order to contribute to the continuous development of our country,we need to improve the education of children. Parents also play a key role ineducating our future generation. The problem is: should parents limit the timetheir children spend on watching TV and movies to make them do well at school.Some point out that, watching TV and movies takes children a lot of spare timeand even distract them in class. However, as I see it, limit the time ofwatching TV and movies may not be effective.

To begin with, watching TV and movies maynot be the main reason that children do not perform well at school. There aremany other factors. First, the study atmosphere is essential. If children havea negative study atmosphere, they will be reluctant to study. For example, ifthe students surround me always do some leisure activities in their spare time,I may also want to join them, because I do not want to be the special one tostudy and it is really funny to play with them. Besides, interest is also verycrucial. As we know, interest is the best teacher. Under the guidance ofinterest, we can learn things more effectively and efficiently. If childrenlack interest in some subjects, they cannot absorb the essentials of theirtextbook even though they spend a lot of time on it.

In addition, there are more effective waysto contribute to the performance of children at school. Encouragement is verycritical to children. Children may confront many difficulties on their way tothe social elites and they may easily lose their confidence and patience ifthey cannot solve problems or fail over and over again. If parents canencourage their children or tell some stories of how some celebrities facethese problems. Children may regain their confidence and patience. Moreover,parents can offer some incentives, such as taking their children to have a tripor go to some popular parks if their children have excellent performance atschool.

Admittedly, watching TV and movies too muchis bad for children. If children spend too much time on watching TV and movies,they may have no time on study. However, watching TV and movies can also bringbenefits to children, such as open their eyes and get informed of latest newsor affairs.

In conclusion, although watching TV andmovies can have some bad effect on children, it also has some positive sides.What's more, it is not the main cause of bad performance of children at schooland children's performance can be improved by other more effective ways.
