The introduction of new technology has casted dramatic influence on human life. The telephone enables instant communication between people apart from thousands of miles; the television brings the information market for people to choose from. However in the comparison between these two kinds of techniques, I believe that the invention of television poses more effects on our societies and lives.

Admittedly, it is universally acknowledged that telephone is indeed a great invention in recent centuries. It allows family members and friends contact with each other more efficiently and instantly compared with the traditional way of communication- letters. As for myself, I would like to call my parents or friends when I miss them since their voices always give me a sense of comfort and make me feel close to them.
More importantly, it is beneficial for people to spread message from one person to another. Nowadays, people often assign tasks or inform other people through telephone calls. However, telephone is at best an effective approaching of communication and its influence on human life is limited to a certain scope.

The television, on the other hand, may have wider effects on modern society. In fact, it is not the television that brings about the differences, but the programs it broadcasting that really matter. The news programs help individuals to get the information they want and understanding（understand） the whole picture of current world; the educational programs, for example, the Discovery and National Geography, broaden people's horizons（horizon） and enrich their knowledge of nature and society; the entertainment programs offer an effective method for modern citizens to release themselves from life stress and pressure. Moreover, television programs not only enhance the quality of life, but also discover the spots of government and society. Plenty of sandals have unveiled the defects and shortages in governments' and companies' routine. These revealing could help to bring up a better society since the pressure from public can urge them to improve.（那个排比用的好，膜拜下~）

But, there is one aspect that still needs discussion. Are the television programs always beneficial? Every coin has two sides and so does the television program. It has been discussed for a long period that television has distracted people from their work（works）, their studys and even their lives. People cannot concentrate on their tasks and assignments since television has given out too many temptations（much temptation）. Also, people who are addicted in watching television ignore the communication with their family（familys） and friends.

Generally speaking, I hold the view that television casts more effects on human life but not all of them are constructive.
