How children are socialized todaydetermines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned howto raise children who can help bring about a better society.

The society is undergoing a radical metamorphosisfeatured by the technological development and cultural transformation, whichforces people to change the way they live in order to adjust the modernsociety. Children, who are so called as the light of the future, are consideredto take the responsibility to reshape the society, and how they are socializedis the key to determine the destiny of the society. Actually, children do playan essential role in inducting the society, but establishing a society is a complextask which can’t just simply be accomplished by children’s socialization.

I turn to my threshold assertion to thedefinition of “socialized”. It can be variously understood by different people.But in most cases, it can be translated as finding the principles establishedin the society and improve oneself physically and mentally to adapt to theprinciples. Also, the capability to cooperate with others and build one’s ownhuman resource network is considered as a vital aspect for a person being wellsocialized. Thus, the standard of socialization is an important element tojudge a person whether he can get accustomed to the society and then has animpact on it.

Admittedly, the better the children getsocialized, the better society they will build in the future. As we know,children are the basis power to build our society in the future so that it hasgreat importance to teach them to accept the tradition and customs of thecurrent society. Only do they meet the need of the society can they make progressto change the society to a better one. What’s more, since children are at theage of learning from outside, it is likely that they tend to accept and learnthings more easily than adults. By instilling the concept of socialization, thechildren will soon adjust to the society and change it as the way they like.

However, it is hardly true that how childrenare socialized “determines” the destiny of the society. It is clear that thesocialization of children has great influence on society, but there are stillother significant factors which could contribute to the shape the society. Forinstance, the technological development, which can be seen everywhere in people’sdaily life and has largely changed the way people live. It would be so partialto make the assertion that the socialization is the key element whichdetermines the destiny of the society. Furthermore, the society is changing ina fast pace, if the children can’t be socialized with the up-to-date currency,their ability to change the society is still open to doubt.

On the other hand, we can simply reach theconclusion mentioned above without considering the possible negative effect of thesocialization of children. Socialization can help children adjust to thesociety more quickly, but it can still lead to an opposite result that thesocialization may impair the creativity of the originality of every child. Withoutthe creativity and the originality, the society can’t be refreshed and have noinner power to be transformed to a vivacious society.
In fact, it is hard to strike a balanceamong getting children well socialized and keep their creativity andoriginality.

In sum, how children are socialized todayreally has tremendous influence on changing the society, but it is not the onlyfactor determines the destiny of society. Many other elements which cancontribute to a better society can not be ignored. To establish a bettersociety, it is of great importance to get children well socialized, and keeptheir creativity and originality at the same time.
