As the world is proceeding on a road along with works coming to people's sight unremittingly and subsequent responses given to the composers is required, a controversy over whether to give positive or negative response is a problem everyone in this world will confront. The author considers negative response is more worthwhile, however, in my view, we actually need a precise balance between giving positive and negative response.

In the first place, I concede to the perspective that it is negative response that has more value in promoting the ability of the composer of a piece of work. Or in some real affairs, giving negative response to someone's suggestion of proposal is more worthwhile than merely giving positive response, for the reason that it is commonly approbated that human gains success through the pass of failure. By disagreement against the physical idea of Aristotle, Galileo made significant advancement on the way to physical truth by providing the idea that truth comes from experiments rather than pure imagination. Through negative response, scientists is required to reconsider and meditate on the issues which lead to conflicts, and composers is required to think again about the way they compose, and the author of a proposal is required to think twice on some points especially that have been neglected before. Therefore, negative response serves as an indispensible component constructing the avenue to truth and beauty.

Since the value of negative response should not be ignored, does this mean that positive response is of less importance? I will answer the question with a opponent answer, in that the merit of positive response, or in other words, appreciation cannot be overshadowed by the advantage of objection. Picking up the composition of a piece of art works for example, there is no absolutely approbated standard in assessing the value of the works. While one point in the works is favored by an artist, it would possibly been abhorred by another. Thus, if only negative response is given to the composer, he would find out that the whole works is teemed with errors and mistakes, which would actually undervalue and overshadow the merits in his works.

Furthermore, negative response and objection may even threat the comfortable living of the opponent. Especially in some political conditions, giving objections will receive ignorance and even persecution. Since negative response is sometimes unfavorable, retaliation may drops on the opponents, which would make the negative suggestion be received no correct disposal. In addition, even if the adverse advice would not result in retaliation, it perhaps would discourage the composer or author. It is commonly accepted that appreciation will encourage the composer which may leads to his further success, thus the value of giving positive response is not negligible.

In sum, while it is negative response that gives rise to a person's promotion in his ability, the disadvantages of negative response and the merits of positive response necessitates enough consideration. Only with the combination of the two kinds of response, the value of such response would turn out to be acknowledged.
