个人觉得用词挺丰富,但是貌似都是那种硬套上去的,最后全都是chinglish ,不知道我的判断对不对,请大家帮忙看一眼~多谢~
Does what we take form books bring us a richer and broader knowledgethan what we learn from direct experience? The speaker claims so. Admittedly, when it comes to knowing about past times, I concede that the assertion doeshave merits. However, as for other realms of knowledge, such as literature andphysics, I strongly disagree with the speaker. After all, few can trulyunderstand the essence of human issues and erudite theories without firsthandexperience.

Facing the
hundreds of thousands of books, which are considered to be the greatestbooks in history, hardly can anyone deny the significant influence they haveexercised on the development of society. For supporting examples, one needs look
no further than the most familiar books, such as "Faust"by Daudet or "Hamlet” by Shakespeare. Few could match them when revealingthe vivid images of the past time. Using symbolism, great books bring the oldtime back to life, and even more deeply. Through the eyes of the author, wehave the chance to stand from a high point stand, and gain the access to a deepinsight into people's minds. From people lacking enough food and cloths all theway up to ones in the highest status, rarely can anyone by direct experienceattain a broader vision. To this extent, I am convinced that few could matchthe value of books.

Having recognized the crucial importance of books in tracing the oldtimes, we should lay more emphasis on direct experience, for the reason that itis the only way to deepen our understanding of both academic achievements anddaily life. Paragons, such as literature and physics, come into mindimmediately. As for literature, indispensible as it is to learn techniques frombooks, what makes a far-reaching writer calls for direct contacts with peopleand nature. For example, thinking about Gorky, the most respectable writer, it wasthe life with ordinary farmers and long journeys through the forests thatstirred his imagination, and inspired him to set down the thoughtful words. What literature is all about is providing a caveat for us, lightening our hopesand revealing hidden ideas. Everything happens for a good reason; they all havetemporary social roots. With writers being divorced from reality and actuallife and addicted to books only, no thoughtful books would come out.

Andthen turning to physics, one would argue that few physical theories, if any,can be gained from direct experience, owing to the fact that most of them aretoo abstract to prove by experience. It is true, actually. However, had oneonly learned theories from textbooks and never put them into practice, he wouldhardly be able to claim that he had understood them. For example, the theory ofrelativity, gained little attention and even sounded absurd in its infancy. Fewhave truly understood the essence of it until the nuclear weapon come intobeing, which relies primarily on the theory. After all, without firsthandexperience of the abstract theories, no matter how earth-shaking they are, theyare merely a merger of equations and words, making no sense.

Insum, while we are indeed learning much about the past human nature andsocieties from the thoughtful books, it is of more cardinal importance that wehave a deeper understanding of many other realms, such as literature andscience, by direct experience. Furthermore, it is the experience that makes mangreat.
