In the lecture, the speaker casts doubt on the three theories about how the buildings of Chaco Canyon were used in the passage, and the reasons are as follows.

To begin with, the idea that houses ware residential conflicts with several facts offered by the speaker. The interior of the building went to the opposite of the theory. On one hand, the fireplaces for cooking in the building couldn't feed so many people of the houses, ten families, tops, which wasn't possibility fro the people to survival. On the other hand, the largest room just can hold one hundred people, not hundreds of people in each house.

In addition, the second theory, that the Chaco structures were used for storing food, isn’t supported by the facts proposed by the speaker. The excavation of the houses found that it was not for storage in that there is neither any maize on the floor nor any maize containers in the house. So the storage theory is not convincing.

Last but not least, the materials around the house make more suspicious about the ceremonial center theory. The goods in the mound, such as building materials and other relics, maybe were the remaining materials for building constructions. In addition, the broken pots in the pile maybe also the regular trashes, may be the remains of the meals by construction workers rather than for evidence for special ceremonials.

As for me, I cast doubt on the proposal that the most efficient way to improve education is to raise teachers' salaries. Improve teachers' salaries could not help much to students, and maybe confuse the administration about how to improve teaching quality.

To begin with, sometimes increase teachers' income maybe a way to cease some kind of awkward situations, such as some faculty work for certain companies for a second job while teaching, in this case, quality will be lessened. While, on the other hand, increase teacher's salaries will increase their teaching activity, maybe more well prepared for the class. In addition, the more opportunities will be given to students attributed for the increased income of teachers. And teachers will spend more of their money to project; thus, improve the students’ creativity in the project, which improve their learning ability in return.

In addition, school administration will consider more ways, hardware equipment and software and the like, to improve education rather than focus on raising teacher's salaries only. For hardware, such as computers, which is widely used in campus, will improve their computer skills and Internet will give more sources, such as books, journals and papers, available for students. Vedio, used in class, not only easily prepared by teachers but also will save time in class that student can learn more and have extra time in class to discuss with their teachers. Some schools could spend more money to improve their libraries, increasing more books for students or support some learning corners for studies of certain interest, such as advanced mathematic and so on, which can create their talent mostly. Thirdly, School can give student more opportunities for their career preparation, such as job experience exchange conference, or more internship for student make best use of their learning, which is another way to learn and improve education because the principle of education is learn most and make best use of student to server the society.
More courses or the exchange with other school should be added in school.

In sum, there're other ways to improve education quality rather than only improving teacher's salaries.
