6月13日上午，偶顺利在美男处拿到visa
本人背景：
清华电机系硕士，去Iowa State Univ.
我把签证经过放在前面，感想和致谢在后面.
签证经过:
V: 美男 M: mangotree
M: Morning Sir, glad to see you! Here is my card (同时递入)
V: Good morning! (ft,我还指望他问我how are you 呢，准备的一句开场白没用上,si
gh) Which university do you study ? (看我的表格)
M: Iowa State Univ.
V: What is your major?
M: My major is XXX with the specialty of XXX.
V: So you want to be a researcher in Power Industry in China? (得意地笑)
M: You are right, sir. (smile, 心理想, ft, 怎么让他给说中了, 后来一想是因为他
签前面一队中有我的一个同学，赫赫，我们的计划太像了)
M: My major is very emerging in China. China will set up a nationwide electr
icity market in the near future. Also this field is my favorite. I have deve
loped a software package during my graduate study, I have taken some picture
s about it, it is really beautiful. Would you like to see it? (开始往外拿)
V: No, I only care about whether you will come back to China.
M: Ok. (不过我还是拿了出来，虽然没递进去，但是感觉他看到后，眼睛一亮，看来他
还是感兴趣的)
V: Why do you want to study in ISU
M: Because ISU has a good reputation in Power Industry in China. As I know,
some professors and engineers in Chinese Power Industry get PhD or visiting
scholar from ISU.
V: How many universities did you apply?
M: Eight
V: How many admissions?
M: Four and one offer from ISU. But ISU is one of the strongest three univer
sities in my fields in State, so I am very satisfied with my choice.
V: Ok(表示赞同). What is you plan?
M: I want to come back to China and enter Power Industry to be a senior rese
archer in some large Electric Power Corp.
V: Such as?
M: SP, DT, …
V: Do you talk with others about your plan?
M: Yes, I have consulted with one of my friends who has worked in SP for 3 y
ears. He told me his Corp. pay attention to the research on XXX very much, a
nd a person with a PhD from USA is very popular in his Corp. Also, you know,
dear sir, In China, there are more than 30 large Electric Power Corps, so I
have no difficulty in find such a position.
V: What is your salary?
M: My expected salary is 150,000 RMB per year, I have asked my friend, he to
ld me a PhD holder can earn such a salary.
V: He is a master or PhD?
M: He get master in the same department and university with me?
V: Why you don’t find a job also with a master?
M: Because the job is different, with master degree, I only can find some lo
w positions in these large Electric Power Corps and do some routine work, bu
t my ambition is not this, my ambition is to do some creative work in the fi
eld.
V: Why not work in State?
M: I have two advantages to work in China
V: what?
M: One is blablabla, the other is blablabla.
V: Ok, give me your transcripts?
M: (拿出，主动打开) O, it is very tight, hehe
V: I have known it (smile)
M: Do you need my G,T scores?
V: no
这时，他在看成绩单，我也觉得没话可说了，安静了一会
V: (突然说) Don’t stop, continue to explain (smile)
M: (ft, 居然让我还说，我都没话了阿) I have some Engilsh and Chines news on E
lectricity Market, I have highlighted the key sentences. Do you like to see
it?
V: 没反应
M: (呵呵，你不看我就给你说)， such as this news， blablabla
V: (看完了，还给我，我觉得这时候已经让我过了) Do you know where is ISU? (smi
le)
M: ISU lies in a small city named Ames, do you know Ames? Sir (grin)

如果比较忙得网友可以不用看了,我的签经单独发在前面了.

签证的过程：我是早上7点和同学约好在东门打车，大概7点50到，已经有20人左右了，
8点开始叫人，我是20多号，但是没有立即进去，我的3个同学先进去了，我大概8点10进
取。在到达安检的时候，我突然看到后面有个dd, 拿着一个透明的带子，隐约我看到MI
T三个大字，赫赫，我就问他，你是DavidRiver吧？果然是啊，真巧。我说你一定能过的
，hoho. 进去之后才发现里面真小阿，我没有马上交表，借着两次喝水的机会仔细打量
了6，7，8，9四个VO， 大TT(sorry) (开始以为是小TT(sorry)，后来beckyy mm 告诉我
就是大TT, 我才知道), hfmm, 平头男子， 美男， 然后回到边上继续填表，贴照片，我
的同学都已经交表了，leehappy是粉色的牌子，redheart&jelimy是白色的牌子，到我交
表时，领到了蓝色排，事实证明确实是个幸运色：）
在我排队的时候，我看到一个mm过了，好像是今天第一个F1哦，接着david上了，赫赫，
和大TT(sorry)对战，最后check了，应该没有问题的。后来redheart&jelimy 被大TT（
sorry）叫走了，leehappy被美男叫走。hfmm又叫走了一队，我的队伍就排在最前面了，
我和beckyy mm开始还在想最好不要让大TT(sorry)抽走呢，这时redheart上了，她很沉
着，最后搞定的大TT(sorry), 我受到极大的鼓舞，突然觉得，被谁抽取都一样了。
当美男提前大TT(sorry) 20几秒签完最后一队时，我们终于如愿的被美男叫走，记得我
还和beckyy mm 对笑了一下，却是挺幸运的。不过我是第四个签的，第一个是探亲，没
过；第二个jj,可能是sevis出问题了，美男让她周一再来，不知道过没过；第三个gg悲
剧了。所以遇到水车也不能掉以轻心的。签经我已经写在前面了，这里就不再赘述。
感想
我准备签证大概20天左右，因为我的口语一般，所以练习了好多次，其实签证就是熟能
生巧的事情。不断找人练习，不断的改进自己的答案和回答方式，多听取牛人的意见，
很重要。
几个tips：
1. 着装问题。我觉得男士应该多注意自己的形象，界面一定有收拾得干干净净，给VO一
个好印象。我认为应该把最好的一面留给VO, 不过可能这个问题因人而异吧，后来beck
yy mm 说我穿得像个MPA, ft, ：）我也不知道是不是对所有人这点都适用。
2. 回答问题简洁。要先把points 扔出来，然后再for example, 否则如果VO不感兴趣会
打断你的，你的point没说出来，就糟了。
3. 支持材料要详细。凡是能证明你优秀的东西，特别是图片阿什么的，都可以带着，V
O看文字肯定会累得，图片可能会引起他的兴趣
4. 归国计划要详细，可信。这个很难，但是最重要，你要能说服自己才行，多找人替提
意见什么的
5. 一定不要放弃。我的同学redheart在大TT(sorry)过的，她准备得很好，我和她练的
时候，确实就感觉问不住她，所以签证还不完全是运气的问题，准备的好坏是非常重要
的。试先要尽量想好所有可能的情形，即使最坏的情形，这样你才能有信心。几天前我
看到一个翻盘的签经，觉得很受鼓舞，大家只要好好准备，认真练习，机会都是不小的
。
6. 我13号签，11号12号的签经都没看，因为我觉得已经没必要了，我准信准备自己的材
料，建议大家签之前也不要看了，相信自己。
