In some countries, requirements for young adults, especially male adults, are duties of civilizers. But I do not think it is necessary for every one although it can benefit both to individuals and government. Conversely, it can be a misleading and incorrect direction for young to develop their future planning and as a result of harm of life time.

Many young people are not exactly mature as they think they are, so they may be waste time on finding a desirable career. If at this time, they are forced to do military service for one or more years, the negative influence can be worse than before. Since they have no time to trace their true dreams while under the restriction of the services. After finishing their duties, most competitive and energetic period of their life time has just passed away. So as you can see, these kind of required services exactly do not affect young into a sound way but let them lose both time and ambition.

Also, there may be a risk for one to be in service, especially military service. Accidents and other kind of injuries are common in military staff because of the demand of physical confliction and attacking. Young people are always energetic and adventure about unfamiliar things which lead them to do some imprudent behavior and cause dangerous situations. If fortunalately, they can survive from a great number of risky trying, but some unfortunate tragedies still happens to make an uncountable lose both to the families and even to the countries.

What is more, the influences of such services are not always benefits . Services in military and other social work are always amalgamations of different people, including rich, poor, upper class, lower class, well behavioral, or bad habited. And influences of one to anther are unavoidable. Only with a partner with excellent personalities can one really benefit from those services. In the contrary, a great possibility of meeting some bad guys exists exactly.

To sum up, such services, like military services and social work, can not be a requirement for every one in the country to accept for the reasons all above, unless with the personal tendency.
