A multitude of people live under the illusion that children are allowed to make choices of their future, however, from my perspective, nothing can be compared with that parents have the obligation to provide advices when children are facing their future. Only in this way can children have the mature decisions of their own in life.

We Chinese have a old saying: An old horse knows the way. This adage can be defined as older people have more wiser views of society. Since children often version the future as an Utopia instead of a clear and practical blueprint, their parents' input is valuable and essential. If children confront a dilemma that finding the right university or the right job after graduating from senior school, due to having not worked before and never attended to a university, our poor children have a extremely limited in both areas. Here the parents should advise their child and ensure that he/she makes the appropriate decision.


Maturity is only part of the picture. No matter what our dreams are, the important of money is crucial. Without financial supporting, whatever children have planned for the future would be the realm of fancy, the illusion. Hence parents may play the key character of patronages for their children. Imagining a child who had decided to attend a private school he appreciated but finally failed because of his father refusing to offer the tuition fees. We may conclude that it is necessary for children to be in favor of financial from parents.

Apart from the means, in order to be able to make sound decision in the future a young child must gain confidence, and parents can help by engaging him or her in dialogue and providing him or her with all the essential information. Not only will he or she continue to seek the reliable advice of his or her parents, but the self-confidence gained from this experience will make it easier for him or her to make decisions in the future.

Advantage of parents should help determine the future of their children has been self-evident. And it has always been mystery to me, who insist above statements, obstinately pretend that children would prefer to make decisions for the future by themselves.
