真的没有想到自己今天能过,真的没有想到

从签经上看,我也没什么特别的地方,
但是我为career plan花的心思,真的是很多很多
我觉得只有自己真正说服了自己,你才有可能去打动签证官
还有，临场的反应可能跟我们平时的vo会大不一样
因为vo是以真正美国式的思维在和我们交流
我一直跟朋友说,我1000被据是应该的,因为我自己根本就没有想清楚
我感谢这个2000的机会,它让我重新思考了自己的价值
美国人appreciate的是personalized的idea
读Ph.D的投资是很大的,你如何才能得到应有的回报呢？

昨天晚上,我一个人在东操走了两个小时
这时候我感到自己的思路才开始渐渐清晰了
最后抛开了所有的包袱,轻松上阵
我相信这个visa本来就应该给我的

我真的不知道该从谁开始感谢起
从4.21领到护照，5.20一签被据，到今天顺利签过

不过我觉得1000被据可能都有一些共同点，希望大家能看看change的问题

背景：清华SEM本科，May 20 rejected

me: Moring, sir. You look so nice today.
vo(smile): Oh, thank you. How are you?
me: Fine. But a little bit cold here.
vo(smile): Oh, cold?
me: Maybe the air-conditioner.....(interrupted)
vo: So are you going to the United States?
me: Yes. I will study environmental economics at Tulane University.
vo: Tulane?
me: Yes. It is a very good place for economics study. My future advisor is a
leader in my specialty. He published many good papers on this issue, especi
ally for....(interrupted)
vo: Can you tell me something about your background? What are you doing now?
me: I'll have my Bachelor's degree in Economics in Tsinghua University this
July.
vo: Tsinghua University?
me: Yes. Tsinghua University.
vo: Then you are going to study Ph.D?
me: Yes. My current advisor also got his Ph.D in Tulane. Now he is the direc
tor of our department. He is a very successful man. A Ph.D degree from Tulan
e University made him very competitive.
vo: Have you applied any Chinese universities?
me: No. Because I want to study environmental economics but there are few go
od graduate programs on this field in China.
vo: I see. Do you have GRE and TOEFL score?
me: Sure. Here it is. (inserted it)
vo (input my information to the computer)
me: You see I've taken GRE twice. I was too nervous at the first time.
vo(nod): Emm. It is really a hard task.
vo: So you said you will study environmental economics? Why do you want to s
tudy this aspect?
me: Because my specialty is developing very fast in our country recent years
. China has invested much money in environmental protection. You see in this
five-year-plan, we have invested this amount of money in environmental stud
ies, twice of last five-year-plan.
vo: Then how can you explain environmental economics?
me: En. Environment is not the case for a single country. It is a g
lobal problem. (vo点头)That is why, for example....(interrupted)
vo: 好像是问我有什么经验
me: In fact my Bachelor' thesis is about a case study for....
vo: Please wait a moment. (进去和大tt聊天,两个笑,还隐约听见sure, issue her
visa的字眼,后来才知道可能是听错了,但是当时自己心里真的很高兴)
vo: So, what will you do after you graduation from Tulane University?
me: You mean my future plan?
vo: Yes. What will you do then?
me: I want to be an excellent economist in my field. My first step is to be
a good professor in the department of economics at my Alma Mater, and my sec
ond step is to connect my research with the Chinese industry. After I establ
ish my reputation in academic, I can find more opportunities to look for mor
e projects.
vo: What projects will you do?
me(傻了): En. For example, my current advisor is doing ... project (interrupted
)
vo: You said you'll come back to your Alma Mater?
me: Yes.
vo: Then what position will you have?
me: I want to be a full-time professor.
vo: Are you sure that you will get this position? I mean how many professors
they will enroll each year?
me:(这个回答导致我最终的失败)My specialty is still a blank area in the departmen
l not be worried about how to find a position. Good positions will find me.
vo: I'am sorry. I cannot get you visa today.
me: Why? Please give me a reason.
vo: Because you are just graduated and you don't have much experience. And y
ou don't have strong tie in your country.
me: Could you please give me another two minutes to explain?
vo(抬头看我)
me: I have done some projects in the field before. I've a thesis about...
vo(shake head): No no. I can't give your visa today. Because you don't have
a strong tie in your country. I don't think you'll come back.
me: May I apply again?
vo: I suggest you apply again when there is a significant change in your sit
uation. And here is your G&T, your I-20, your certificate of deposit. I'll k
eep your...form. (用力在护照上盖章,气死我了)
me: Then, thank you. Good bye.
vo: Bye. (smile) (现在才知道笑不笑其实跟过不过一点关系都没有)
