The digital medical imaging group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois,
USA is currently looking for highly motivated Ph.D. students to perform NIH funded advanced research in the fields of medical imaging, tomographic image reconstruction, physical systems, image quality analysis and computer simulation. An important goal of this research is to develop novel imaging system to address the challenging image reconstruction and analysis problems for medical and clinical applications.
(1) Students with MS degrees in physics (medical, nuclear, optics, general physics, etc), engineering (biomedical, electrical, computer, mechanical, instrumentation, etc), computer science, or mathematics will be fully considered. We are especially interested in students from physics, biomedical, signal and imaging related fields. Experience in C/C++ programming will be a plus.
(2) Students must have a Masters degree before enrollment, as required by the department. Students need to provide GRE and TOEFL test scores, though there is no minimum requirement for GRE scores.
Prospective Ph.D. students will receive degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering after completing the program. Those who are interested please contact Prof. Chen directly by adachen@siu.edu with your resume and thesis/publications (if any).
