In the lecture, professor makes several points about the pros and cons existed in the policy of four-day employment. The professor makes clear statement by saying four-day employment is very costly for the companies. It is definitely challenging the point given in the reading passage.


First of all, the speaker thinks that the company which will provide employment with a four- day work week would have to spend more money by adding new workers and to buy the insurance for them. In contrast, the reading passage believes that workers who woke 80 percent will be paid 80 percent and make an economical balance.
So, the lecture totally disagrees with the view made in the reading.

　　Second, the speaker discusses the situation that no new workers will be hired, so the workers who choose to work four day have to work extra hours. If employees work in this way, they can not improve the working efficient and they would by unpleasant at the same time. Contradicting what is stated in the reading passage that shortens workweek will make them more rested and alert.

　　Finally, the speakers raises the issue that people who work four day a week will probably get fired when economy turn down. This point disagrees that workers can
do better at work and have a good time after work demonstrated in the reading.

　　So, the contents in the reading passage are totally jeopardized by the speaker and the speaker has totally different ideas on the topics made in the reading.
