This is a unfounded statement because illogical reasoning and absence of necessary evidence. (1)The author has not provided a basic description of this building, the environment around it,so it is unpersuasive to claim that to commission a famous architect known for experimental and futuristic buildings for housing is a reasonable choice. (2) No evidence is provided to show that the tourists will want to visit this new building and even spend some money on it, the author fails to give a feasible and persuasive profit model of this plan. (3) The author has not evaluate the building costs and fails to estimate the profit of the new building, so it is imprudent to claim that the income from the fees charged to rourists will soon cover the costs. (4)At the absence of details such as living environment, location, rental prices, and the alumni's attitude toward it , it is unreasonable to make such hasty conclusion that the building will attract nesw students as well as donations from alumni. (5) The author has not provided a clear constuction planning of this building, so the assertion that the building will be larger than the current need for student housing and can also arract customers who need office space, is vaild. (6)The author has not take other solutions which may be more economical and acceptable into consideration. |
