In today's world, as the quality of instruction at higher education becomes one of the determinants of examining whether a university or a college is more capable of cultivating students. One of the ways of improving the teaching quality is to encourage teachers and professors to spend time working outside the academic institutes in professions relevant to what they teach. I am fully不够辩证 in favor of this way, because it brings lots of benefits to both our college faculty and students.

First of all, working outside the academic world means gaining real relevant working experience in industrial world, which involves taking a real job in a company or government, working for some organizations to achieve some research goal and so forth. Since this working experience is practical experience that brings the actual situation of a specific subject or area, it is a significant way in improving the teaching quality. Let's take financing and accounting for example. The one who teaches students financing and accounting should not only know in mind all kinds of relevant theories concerning finance and accounting, but acquire the practical experience in department of financing and accounting of certain company as well. Otherwise, the theory they teach may lack clear and insightful explanations. If they have such experience, they may share it with their students, make a paraphrase of similar situations of the examples in financing books and better explain the economic phenomena. In another example of teaching descendants fire making methods in ancient world, if a teacher who hasn't yet made a fire by striking stones to produce sparks himself, he is not qualified to teach his students this basic living methods during that time. This simple example definitely indicates the importance of practical experience as well as the criteria of measuring a better teaching qualification.

In the second place, since our students will not all stay in academic institutes after their graduations and a considerable amount of them may go to companies working for professional career, the experience that they learned during higher education, whether it is theoretical or practical, becomes so important that their professors should have students get familiar with such experience. This is known as a basic function of a university. If their teachers don't have such practical experience working outside the academic world, they are not qualified to get their students well informed and well taught. 意思和上一段有重复

What is more, university faculty had better also find their time gaining necessary knowledge in areas different from what they are expert at. This is because teachers need to be familiar with not only their teaching subjects but also multiple other subjects. In this way, they can have comprehensive knowledge and better give lectures to students. For example, if an economic teacher doesn't know anything about politics, he may easily get confused if his students once ask him some questions concerning political area. It is also possible that a biological professor encounters some problems that only chemical measures can explain and solve. Hence, a variety of knowledge may be necessary for faculty to acquire. In that way, some complex cross disciplinary issues become multiple simple subjects that teachers find easier to address. Thus, the quality of teaching can be greatly improved. 论证没有问题,但由于题目是与专业相关工作,最好在之前加上“校外工作需要的不仅仅是单科知识,还需要多学科知识才能做好。”

In all, the experience that teachers gain during their work outside the academic world relevant to what they teach is much important. This practical working experience is crucial to the quality of teaching. Also, teachers should acquire a variety of knowledge including what they teach and what they will encounter. In this way, university faculty will improve their quality of instruction considerably.

结构不够辩证,最好能在最后提一下这项措施有可能带来的问题。
