Two CS PhD Student Opens at University of Houston

The Computer Graphics and Interactive Media (CGIM) Lab atUniversity of Houston (http://graphics.cs.uh.edu)has two PhD student opens starting at Fall 2011. The main research schemes ofthe UH CGIM Lab are centered at computer animation, virtual human modeling andanimation, human computer interaction, GPU computing, scientific data visualization,and visual-haptic interfacing for medical computing. Its current research hasbeen funded by National Science Foundation, Texas Norman Hackerman AdvancedResearch program, Google Research, and other industrial sources. In addition, the lab hasestablished firm and substantial collaborations with industry leaders includingGoogle, Nokia, and Nvidia.


We are currently looking for two new PhD students to jointhe lab at 2011 Fall to work on computer animation, virtual reality, and GPUcomputing research. Students with strong CS and math backgrounds will beencouraged to apply. Also, students with M.S in CS or has relevant researchexperience in computer graphics, vision, GPU computing, and computerarchitecture will be given favorable considerations.
