Many problems of modern society cannot be solved by laws and the legal system because moral behavior cannot be legislated.






Legislation and law, in modern society or old times, is a great help to solve problems and disputes. As the speaker says, it is the legislation of moral that can solve some problems, yet, we can not
only rely on this legislation to solve all problems occurring in our society, in our life which is so much complex.

It’s true that many behavior has violated moral whereas don’t break laws for the scope of moral is broader than laws. And because of the broader part that many problems can be created which at first is small event then maybe develop to some kind of terrible tragedy. So, if we legislate moral behavior which breaking means some punishment, then loads of event or tragedy can be prevented.

Yet, legislating moral behavior can not solve all problems. Taking how to deal relationship with others for example, harmony relationship with our surroundings leads to a harmony community, then a harmony society. We can not enact to force or regulate people’s behavior to get along with each other. And, likewise, when we plan our lives to have a better quality, to achieve what we want, it’s education’s job to folk to make wise planning, decision, rather than moral or legislation.


There is one thing we should know about. First, there is no law at the beginning of our society, only moral. With the development of society and productivity, it’s difficult to regulate order of life and produce, so the supervisor began making some rules. This is the original of legislation. So there is no denial that our laws have already been the legislation of some moral. Only with time pass, people forget this relationship. So, here is the problem, legislating moral also can’t solve many problem. To say the least, maybe we should legislate all the moral behaviors. Do you think it’s possible? Maybe all we have to do is print the moral, and then publish it. Even through fierce discussion and debate, we finally make it, then when one violates it, how we carry out our punishment. It’s all unrealistic.

Let’s put this state into a broader scope. When it comes to international problems, first, there is no uniform law or moral all over the world which differs from one country or culture to another. There is no possibility to negotiate to make uniform legislation system suits for every country. And when our human race faces disaster no matter nature or society, law and moral are afraid of helplessness. We need science to warn us, prevent disaster like earthquake or hurricane.

In sum, a society full of regulation to solve problems is woeful. Instead, we need to educate our citizens to act, to behave properly from their own will, help each other and hold together. We are human race and we are brothers and sisters. The most important is that we hold a humane heart, stick together, then we can face all kinds of problems and solve. A better world will live in front of us.
