Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Some scientists are responsible for the negative impacts that made by their discoveries.






As the countries all over the world increasingly realize the significance of science, more and more scientific discoveries are made by scientists. However, not every discovery is beneficial to people. Who should be blamed for those negative impacts? The scientists should be, yet partially. The governments are also responsible for them.



Only staring at the personal profit or reckless interest causes some scientists who are irrational and beginning to study crazy discoveries. The whole world is full of temptation, absolutely so is the science field. If the scientists couldn't control her/himself and let the greed be intended by the nature, s/he should definitely be intensely denounced by creating something hurtful to people. In addition, some scientists don't care individual profit, but they are totally blind on the road of pursuing their interests. They just want to perfectly conquer the difficulties that are alluring to them, from which they achieve self-satisfactory. And when they succeed, they are always immersed in the ecstasy regardless of the misery brought from their discoveries other people are suffering from. If cloning a living person is accomplished by the push of selfishness or insane interest, though it has not been finished up to now, no matter how condemning those people isn't excessive.



The argument mentioned above is in the range of that scientists are making discoveries according to their own consciousness, that is, they are voluntary to research something. Whereas some studies are the requirement of the governments and scientists are just forced to do it. At that time, governments should be responsible for the negative impacts. We all know that doing a research or establishing a scientific laboratory need great deal of money. Despite of private organization, the government is the biggest investors. Since it command financial power, it could influence the way where scientific discoveries go, especially during a special period, like in a war. Let's take World War II, the time when atomic bombs were created, as an example. Then in order to give the opponent a fatal punch, both the Allies and the Axis were making their respective scientists move heaven and earth to study atomic bombs. The result, or the price ordinary people pay for implementation of the atomic bomb, was painful. Two cities were completely destroyed, and hundreds of innocent citizens died. Such negative impacts are wholly governments' responsibility.



To sum up, not only scientists but the governments play an important role in discoveries that lead to harmful influence. Therefore, we need other supervisors to guarantee the safe life to us.
