提纲:


正方:



1.失败是成功之母,不断犯错积累经验能够不断进步


反方:


1.前人的经验都是通过犯错所积累下来的,没有必要什么事都从头来,
站在巨人的肩膀上可以看得更远。例如各类学科的知识


2,并非只有通过犯错才能进步和有所发现,有时候错误的代价过于大。


3.另外,只要犯错就能有所成功的想法是不靠谱的,因为方向不对或者
目标并不具有可实现性,无论怎样努力也是徒劳。

Admittedly , enormous discoveries and progress are made from thousands of trial and errors either in the field of science or the development of our modern civilization. However, making mistakes is not the only road leading us to achievements and success .


To begin with, human being's history is a documentary of making mistakes and learning lessons. At ancient times, our ancestors already began to advance their hunting weapons from the knowledge generated from former mistakes. It is one of the basic ways which we used to learn new knowledge and make new discoveries until nowadays. Edison failed more than 1600 times before he finally found the suitable material for the filament of light bulbs. It takes almost 300 years of making mistakes and correcting them for the United States Constitution’s 27 amendments being ratified. Without making mistakes, many technologies and social improvement would never become true.


On the other hand, generating useful experience from mistakes is a process of paying cost and struggling. The advanced technology of making hunting weapons is built on the cost of blood, even lives of our ancestors. Once we own the method, there is no need to start everything from the beginning repeatedly. To avoid this, we invented education which servers the purpose of passing knowledge from generation to generation. All the books ranging from mathematics to sociology are written intend to prevent us from making mistakes and help us being more efficient. Therefore, even if we still use the basic trial-and-error method, it is creativity and inspiration gradually becoming the step stone leading to discoveries and improvements. For instance, instead of trying hard to improve the already existed operating system model from collected error reports, Google proposed its innovation of combining the internet and the traditional OS(operating system) together which greatly rise the security and usage of the customer’s data. Radar, as a result from imitating natural animals' behavior, is another example of making discoveries creatively.


Furthermore, the author's assertion is misleading when people believe every time they make a mistake and learn from it the success is one step closer. This false belief may let the people who made mistakes have a forgivable excuse for they are just closer to the success again. But sometimes success may not be there at all without the right direction and careful estimation. Especially when it comes to the case of scientific research, blindly making mistakes would make all endeavors in vain and waste limited natural resources and materials. Moreover, under certain circumstance such as outer-space exploration, military experiments and nuclear energy appliances, blind mistakes would be fatal and catastrophic.


In sum, learning from mistakes is not the only way to success. Even if there is no other roads available, we still need to be conscientious and careful to estimate the feasibility and fully prepare for the probable consequences while clearly understand success may not at the destination waiting for us.
