165. "In any given field, the leading voices come from people who are motivated not by conviction but by the desire to present opinions and ideas that differ from those held by the majority."
在任何给定的领域中,领袖人物并不肯定他人的观点,而是表达与大多数不同的观点

Under many circumstance, some people hold the claim that in any given field, it is the one who are motivated not by conviction but by the desire to present opinions and ideas that differ from those held by the majority that the leading voices come from. After weighing up both the prospective benefits and potential risks, to large extent, I stand on the opposite of the claim. As a matter of fact, both two kinds of attitudes to the majority idea are intertwined elements that are playing respective indispensable roles in the leading position.
First of all, I have to concede that presenting the different opinions, in many cases, is accepted as one of the approved ways of leading the group. Only the leader voice the point different from the most popular one, is the public gentle to notice the points of the leaders. The opinion of 3R voicing from Franklin Roosevelt leads the US to get out of the Great Depression.
However, the beginning differences in mind are born for the ultimate same. Admittedly, on occasion that no improvement of the group is taken, a different excellent opinion can make the association revitalized, even lead to a successful ending; nonetheless, getting an idea accepted by the majority, even the whole group, is also quite effective in speeding the development of the organization. At the beginning of the brainstorming, we need to voice out a plenty of different points; whereas we can always get the final brilliant idea which is accepted by the whole participants at last.
Furthermore, the leading voice is supported to comfort the popular view of value. The inherited defect of presenting the different points without paying any attention to the idea maintained by the majority gives rise to a multitude of problems that run the risk of messing up the supporting to the leader from the public. According to a survey by International Leader, nearly 80% of the responders aged between 25 and 50 admit that they do not like the leader who always presents his or her own idea differ from the staffs. Moreover, it is considered to be a hardly completed mission for every leader to always present the proposals different from the public.
The last but not the least, as a matter of fact, voicing the different does not function as the exclusive prerequisite for the leadership. Under many circumstances, it is a combination of approaches including the individual learner characteristics, the quality and nature of the leadership development program, the genuine supports for behavioral change from the leader’s supervisor and etc. that can, to large extent, help the leader raise his or her authority. In this sense, there exists no direct casual relation between the leadership and the claim different from the majority.
To sum up, the leading voices come from people who are motivated not only by the desire but also by the conviction to present opinions and ideas that differ from those held by the majority. What’s more, it is essential for leaders to pay attention to the idea accepted by the majority.
