The speaker holds a opinion that less time spent on reading literaure books does not necessarily lead to poor understanding of culture and decline of the literaure, which is different with the claim in the reading passage that reading less literature will cause unfortunate influence not only on the culture but also on the development of literature.

First, the speaker corrects one mistake in the passage that reading less literature contributes to bad imagination and understanding of language. She claim that except literature books, there are other forms of literature, such as scientific programs, which is of high quality and serves to inspire the imagination as well.

The speaker,also, denies the saying in the passage that all the music and movie programs are trivial and make no sense. In her statement, as culture development in various forms, briliant music and excellent movie are also a good carriers of culture. In addition, compared with literature books, the effect of them are more direct.

Moreover, according to the speaker, the worry of literature auther, mentioned in the reading passage, is overstressed. As the history shows it always takes a long for masterpieces written by great authers to be appreciated. It works in the past and it works nowadays.

In sum, the conclusion of the reading passage is too imprudent.
