1。There are no separately timed sections; therefore, you may want to work through the test quite rapidly, first answering only the questions about which you feel confident, then go back and answering questions that require more thought, and concluding with the most difficult questions if there is time.
2。GRE Subject Tests are intended for examinees who have completed or nearly completed an undergraduate major in the subject being tested. A general review of your college courses is probably the best preparation for the test. However, the test covers a broad range of subject matter, and no one is expected to be familiar with the content of every question. When you take the test, read the test directions care fully and work as rapidly as you can without being careless. For each question you should choose the best answer from the available options. All test questions carry the same weight, so do not spend too much time on questions you find extremelly difficult or unfamiliar.
3。 Many examinees wonder whether or not to guess the answers to questions about which they are not certain. As a correction for haphazard guessing, one-fourth of the number of questions you answer incorectly is substracted from the number of questions you answer corectly. (Multiple-choice questions for which you mark no answer or more than one answer are not counted in scoring.) It is improbable, therefore, that mere guessing will improve your score significantly; it may even lower your score. If, however, you are not sure of the correct answer but have some knowledge of the question and are able to identify one or more of the answer choices as incorrect, your chance of getting the right answer is improved, and it may be to your advantage to answer such a question.
