• 5月4号签的，昨天收到签证，核对了一下资料，sevis号都没错，等着9月起飞了。

• 给大家分享几个实录 部分细节仅供北京签的同学参考

• 1. 预约
  
  网站上放的时间是平均等待时间，但具体每天会放哪天，是不一定的。我打了两次电话，4月26日打时北京最早的可预约日期是6月20日，28号打告诉我5月4日就可以,祝大家好运。
  
  
  2. 准备的材料
• DS-160确认页，签证费收据（2联都要，绿色的贴在确认页空白处）
  护照（把照片夹在上面）
  I-20和Sevis费收据，奖学金的文件，学校的录取通知。
  英文的导师情况（如果没有，把你被录取的专业的系主任的简历打印出来，一页左右）和研究计划（签证官不一定会看，但必须准备）。
  补充材料
  毕业/学位证书，gre/toefl成绩单
  英文的简历（如果有可以带上）
  
• 3.来使馆进行签证面谈
  要吃饱，因为会等很长时间。去年我在广州签证，约的下午1：30到快5点才走出大使馆，这次北京，约的1045，从1025到使馆门口开始排队，接近1300才出使馆。
  
  我面谈的时候，面试官问了
  为什么去这个学校？专业？之前的工作经历？和工作有关的问题，有没有考过托福？成绩？
  其他闲聊/玩笑若干。相谈甚欢。
  
  
  4. 通过中国邮政办理签证/护照返还手续
  北京很夸张，我差不多1点到邮局，当时叫的1313号，我领的1485号，等了半个小时，才叫了40几个号，所以我就出去玩了一圈，赶在下班前10分钟（1650）到指定的邮局，一个人也没有，2分钟搞定
  。问了一下保安，签证当天和第二天都是可以办理邮寄的
  

玩笑的部分，
我觉得关键是语气和笑容
我： “Hi”
签证官：“good morning”
我：“It is not morning anymore”
签证官笑了，然后问了我的签证类别，要走了DS-160的确认页，I-20，录取通知，奖学金的文件。
签证官问了：“why do you want to go to Columbia U？”
我说：“Because Yale said no”
签证官"you are going to study conservation biology，are you excited? "
我：“yes, it is what i want to do"
签证官：“are you current a Master student？”
我：”no. I finished my undergraduate years ago and have been a volunteer ever since“
签证官：”what do you do？“
我：”conservation and study of the wild endangered white-headed langur and chinese white dolphin“
他又问了些跟白海豚有关的问题，我blahblah了一通
签证官：”what are you going to do after the study?“
我：”Not sure, Probably Phd“
签证官 ”Your study is sponsored by？“
我 ”*****“
签证官：“Did you take the tofel？”
我 yes
签证官 and your score？
我 104
其中还有什么忘了
签证官：”New york is a great city you will have fun there. Just don't go to the wrong places at wrong time“
我：”Like going to the center park at night?“
签证官 ："I think it is Ok before 9"
签证官这个时候递了一个粉色的快递条给我，我看着他往我的材料上写了个A。
闲聊。我真是要改掉这个跟签证官乱聊的毛病，我问了签证官从哪儿来，他说北卡，还唱了句Sweet Caroline给他听，说了会DUKE什么的。估计后头人都疯了。
