每当谈到人的选择，道德和伦理有关的问题， 我就无话可讲。挑几个题目出来， 再附上自己的一些文章。 看大家给点思路或事例。
no amount of information can eliminate prejudices because prejudice is rooted in emotion not reason in emotion, not reason.
这片我想将 prejudices 分成普通的譬如朋友，父母与子女， 或同事间的偏见以及根深蒂固的偏见两类讨论， 前一种可以有信息消除，建立在reason上，后一种建立在 emotion上， 无法由信息消除，但觉得讲的好象不是很清楚（下面有我的文章）。

Issue: Technologies not only influence but actually determine social customs and ethics.

In this unprecedented era with developed technology paralleling  with high level of ethics and customs, more and more people so that have such an illusion that it is technology that decide our ethics and customs and bring us to today's civilization. But in my observation, although it should be admitted that technology dearly influenced ethics and customs of human beings in the past years, it never achieve to become a decider.

Technology indeed wakes up human beings to many unethical problems existing and make it possible for solving them. On one hand, technology emaciated human beings from anxiety and long distress intertwined by too hard and unstable life. Were the development of technology, we may still struggle in a risky nature with all kinds of powerful animals threatening human's lives, is there any possibility for more attention on enhancing level customs and ethics? Not indeed. On the other hand, the requirement of developing technology on paralleling civilized ethics and customs achieve to propel them in return. As we can see from the famous case of breaking slavery in America. Despite of our great admiration on human's progress on shudder manacle imposed on blacks, we have to admit that it is not whites themselves suddenly find that it is unethical or unreasonable, but the demand of large amount of labors from the rapid development of American industry coming along with technological advances. For these reasons, the influence of technology on ethics and customs should never be neglected.

However, when getting close to customs and ethics, we will easily find that they may not attain much achievement given that technology is the absolute decider. Even to today when technology has been developed to serve for human beings in all realms of society, technology still play a role of two-edged sword when it comes to ethics and customs. As beneficial technology is when it comes to ethics and customs, technology in a large degree damage human traditional ethics, especially with the appearance of biological tech such as clone and artificial fertilization which have caused great controversy worldwide. Besides, we will find some of our customs also lag behind civilization further and further because of advanced weapons if we turn to those animals who are suffering being killed at any time by human.

The final factor to decide to what level our ethics and customs reach depends on our education and art. Only through education imparting people with precious values such as honesty, faith, loyalty and treating others with love can we get to realize our unethical behaviors and atrocity of our customs toward  many problems. Only through art refining people's minds and endowing people with a heart replete with love can we finally achieve to civilized ethics and customs.

So far as I am concerned, although technology make great contributions to human beings in making advances on ethics and customs, we must not be masked from the damage on them with the advent of technology development. One thing is certain, the most powerful tool to propel our spiritual civilization on ethics and customs, should be art and education.

我写过Technologies not only influence but actually determine social customs and ethics.这道题,确实感觉很难展开.但我觉得科学对社会风俗和伦理的影响不应仅限于与"野蛮"的关系,实际上,科学对社会风俗与伦理的影响是多方面的,我能想到的有:科学对传统形成的伦理和风俗形成了挑战,如现代的避孕及堕胎技术对传统观念的影响;现代的电子邮件和电话等通讯方式给人们的人际关系带来的影响等等.但是不能说科技决定风俗与伦理,因为后者是人类社会长期累积下来的,受政治\文化\经济\社会关系等多种因素影响.欢迎对此题的后续讨论.

关于美国解放独立事件,我想是因为北方的工业发展导致需要更多的劳动力,从而需要解放黑奴,而引发了南北矛盾,我觉得这样应该行吧
