1117-100320NA Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People today can solve many important problems so they don't need help from the government.

With the accumulating knowledge and increasing numbers of high technology(technology不可数), it is true that individuals have more possibilities to solve some important issues efficiently. However, due to the characteristics of the government, objectivity(客观性？) and power, some social and economic problems can be solved more appropriately by the regulations of the government.(regulation好像后加上什么的管理)（不如写成be solved more efficiently by the government regulating daily issue）(没有开头观点~这个…)


Without question, nowadays people are more active and efficient in dealing with some problems encountered(encountering我觉得——愚见) in their personal lives, mainly because of their knowledge acquired from school education, experiences learned in daily life and more importantly, modern tools offered by the development of the whole society（tools offered by the development of the…有点不通，不如去掉development）. For example, when their rights are violated, modern people will find their lawyers to fight for their rights and get the compensation（这个例子好） instead of calling 911 and waiting for the help of the government. In a word, such things happening in daily life is within the control of people and the interference of the government is not necessary.

However, there are many big social and economic problems, which need the objective regulations of the government(用得好) in order to increase the whole welfare of its citizens. Generally speaking, social and economic problems occurring in the society always signal（受教） the conflicts and fights between（among?） different interests groups. It is likely that, in order to maximize their own interests, these groups will refuse to make compromises, which leads to much more serious crisis to the society.(分析的很深刻)
Suppose that cab drivers hold a strike to express their dissatisfaction of low salaries and long working hours, however, the association on behalf of the consumers refuses to pay extra for the drivers' service. Then it is the time for the government to step in（例子举的好）. As an objective judge, government can investigated into this issue and make some appropriate policies, which can settle down this problem and ensure the security of the society.

More than that, sometimes the problems are so complex and consuming resources(不明白什么是consuming resources) that only the government is capable of handling them. For instance, the global warming has become the focus of the world. Considering its negative effects on the climate, plants and animals, as well as on the glaciers (and?)on the poles of the earth, it is urgent to find solutions to slow down it and eliminate its bad influences. However, even though individuals could make a little difference in their daily life, such as stopping using private cars, to contribute(contributing？) to the protection of the environment, it's(the?) effects are relatively small compared with what the government could do. The government can not only assign professors of top universities to study this phenomenon, but also can invent or purchase related facilities to stop the process of global warming.

All in all, in modern time, people are more qualified to settle their own personal issues, but when comes(coming) to big problems signaling interest conflict or complex issues requiring resources(signaling处比较混乱，不如用concerning interest conflicts), the government plays a significant role in solving them.
