第一次发帖，请前辈们帮忙～

本人985学校，保险精算专业。GPA还行，参照一个Waterloo的GPA conversion table，应该可以有3.9(90.5/100)。SOA考了前三门。科研比较水，但学生工作和社团活动有一些。在保研和申请出国之间很犹豫，所以想请大家帮帮忙。

1 我的TG都没有考，打算9月初考一个托福或者雅思，请问考哪个对申请加拿大更有利？雅思成绩会影响奖学金或者TA/RA的发放吗？
2 如果T能努力考到100，IELTS到7的话，Waterloo的Actuarial Science (MMath) or Statistics (MMath) 录取和拿奖的希望大吗？
3 除Waterloo之外，关于精算、统计、风险管理方面，还有什么好的项目，麻烦大家推荐～

Hi sislet, you have a decent GPA! No worries about the grade;P
1. No difference whether you take TOFEL or IELTS, as long as you pass the minimum requirement. Also Canadian universities are not like the states ones, they never rank students or consider scholarship base on any English test's marks.
2. If you apply early and meet all the requirements and with a high GPA (90/100) you are 90% likely to receive a scholarship package about $19,000 for one year. This is the department's standard funding package. It mostly comes from a TA position. UW has a lot of undergrad students in Actuarial and statistics, they sometimes even give undergrad students TA positions (if they receive A in that classes), you see, they are actually in short of TAs ;P
3. Besides waterloo, the next on in line would be University of Western Ontario for actuarial major. In terms of statistics (mostly biostat), I suggest Toronto, UBC, UA, UW, UWO, Simon fraser. As for management or business, Mcgill, UT, UWO, UW, queen's, UBC, UA...there are a lot of good schools. However you need to make sure what you seriously seeing yourself doing in the future. Your ideal job will influence your choices of Master degree.

奖学金和托福雅思成绩无关。。。过了要求就行。哪个都行。
UWO,UT,UBC都可以申申试试。把加能投的都投了。也就十几个吧，拿奖的希望很大。

我还是有点纠结TOFEL和IELTS的问题~托福有那个单项口语25的要求, 有点担心, 所以我现在倾向雅思...你的同学中有用IELTS拿到offer的吗？
还有Waterloo的Mmath是录取了就有那个19,000的奖吗, TA的话口语成绩要有门槛的吧 ??
