240"Much of the information that people assume is 'factual' actually turns out to be inaccurate. Thus, any piece of information referred to as a 'fact' should be mistrusted since it may well be proven false in the future."
I agree with the speaker insofar as many seemingly plausible facts would indeed turn out to be inaccurate later, sometimes even appear to be ridiculous. However, the speaker goes to such an extreme to acclaim that any piece of information should therefore be taken with a salt for the possibility that it might be proven false in the future. My objection is that---to have faith and belief in something   over others is indispensable for us eithor in our everyday life or in our spiritual needs.
It is true that more often than not, the various firmly held " factual" issues would eventually appears to be inaccurate in the end. History has related numerous such cases. In the scientific realm, which is always characterized for its truth-dominate, the once accepted idea, say, the idea the earth was the center of the whole universe, with all other planets surrounding around it, eventually turned out to be false and replaced with the sun-centered theory. Even the most commonly recognized fact, which has long been held by almost all people, that the space and time is constant and linear is also challenged when the genius Einstein came along with his famous principle of relatives. The same thing happens in the culture area. Accompanied wIth social development comes the incessant abandoning of old customs or traditions which have formerly been accepted as ordinary or factual events. The preservation of long hair in Qing Dynasty in China is just a good case. At that time, all men were forced to keep their ever-growing hair without cutting it any time in their lives. Such a ridiculous phenomenon, as it now seems to us, was prevalent and accepted by all Chinese men at that time for they firmly held that the hair, along with the skin, is all bestowed by their parents and should never be discarded. Time has proved that this once factual event eventually turned out to be ridiculous and disappear in history without any trace.
However, aside from any morality consideration, this assertion is too cynical. Although there are indeed many factual things ended in nothing but ridiculous concept as discussed above, it does not, and would never overshadow the benefit people receive from a factual belief, upon which modern men depend so much.      Imagine the extreme circumstance when all people lose their heart to believe anything to be factual, then we would easily to recognize what an significant and essential role has the relative fact played upon us. Once if all factual things are doubted, our young generations would be disinterested, or even hostile to learn for the simple reason that they regard the knowledge taught in the classroom might be groundless in their later life; Scientist would lost their enthusiastic at their own research realm when they over exaggerate the possibility of failure; Doctors would be more uncertain and therefore less efficient in their professions as they are not sure whether there are any factual ways out of a specific disease. How miserable would it be if all the human being lose some criteria of selecting factual out of false, or hypothesis! There would be no correct above wrong, no morality above degeneration, no excellent above inferior, once if people get skeptical to regard anything to be factual. In a word, the belief of “factual” is indispensable to keep the society as a wholly stable and healthy one with prospective foresight.
What’s more, it should never be ignored that the process to hold a “factual” concept and then to be replaced with a new one is, eventually the progress process of human history, either in culture, science, or politic. To believe in something factual, we are equipped with a system of belief, knowledge, technology for further development. In turn, it is the incessant progress that people made which finally determined some original factual concepts, even those we had based on which to develop, were wrong and then replaced with a new one. It is based on the mutual propelling process that human being has developed into modern civilization and will continue to endeavor for a better future.
To sum up, I concede that under many circumstance, factual concepts might eventually turn out to be false, or even ridiculous. Yet, it should never overshadow the great benefit people receive from the basic belief of some “factual” things either for human being’s basic needs or for the foundation of all social development.

My objection is that---to have faith and belief in something over others is indispensable for us eithor (either) in our everyday life or in our spiritual needs.

It is true that more often than not, the various firmly held “factual" issues would eventually appears(appear) to be inaccurate in the end. History has related numerous such cases. In the scientific realm, which is always characterized for its truth-dominate, the once accepted idea, say, the idea the earth was the center of the whole universe, with all other planets surrounding around it, eventually turned out to be false and replaced with the sun-centered theory. Even the most commonly recognized fact, which has long been held by almost all people, that the space and time is constant and linear is(was) also challenged when the genius Einstein came along with his famous principle of relatives. The same thing happens in the culture area. Accompanied with social development(此句主语在哪里?) comes the incessant abandoning of old customs or traditions which have formerly been accepted as ordinary or factual events. (从科学和文化两个方面去说)

However, aside from any morality consideration(道德?从何而来?), this assertion is too cynical. Although there are indeed many factual things ended in nothing but ridiculous concept as discussed above, it does not, and would never overshadow the benefit people receive from a factual belief, upon which modern men depend so much. Imagine the extreme circumstance when all people lose their heart to believe anything to be factual, then we would easily to recognize what a significant and essential role has the relative fact played upon us. Once if all factual things are doubted, our young generations would be disinterested(uninterested,不要混了啊), or even hostile to learn for the simple reason that they regard the knowledge taught in the classroom might be groundless in their later life; Scientist(s) would lost their enthusiastic(enthusiasm) at their own research realm when they over-exaggerate the possibility of failure; Doctors would be more uncertain and therefore less efficient in their professions as they are not sure whether there are any factual ways out of a specific disease. How miserable would it be if all the human being lose some criteria of selecting factual (facts) out of false, or hypothesis!

To sum up, I concede that under many circumstance(s), factual concepts might eventually turn out to be false, or even ridiculous. Yet, it should never overshadow the great benefit people receive from the basic belief of some “factual” things either for human being’s basic needs or for the foundation of all social development.
