In my opinion, both the sense of competition and cooperation plays critical roles in forming a leader. The sense of competition keeps a person always be aware of his own defects and make self-improvement every now and then so as to make himself good enough to convince other people; while the sense of cooperation enable the leader to create a environment that could energize not only himself but also those whom he lead, and only by this way, his leadership could be a effective and efficient one.

When comes to the early stage that forms a leader, we could say that it is the sense of competition that urge a person to make progress step by step and finally become a leader. Anyone who wants to reach the status as a leader should show the rest of people some of his unique quality that could be considered valuable to the whole community. For example, during the process of a soldier becoming a general, the soldier has to be brave in the battle field, he should have the unique ability either to kill more enemy or to get more valuable imformation or some other quality that shows his superiority to other soldiers. Then he might be prompt to some higher degree-a leader of some other soldiers. by this time, he gets his leadership mainly by the sense of self-improvement, by the sence of competition.

However, after a person make his inarguation as leader, only the sense of competition could not serve him well, on the contrary, it will even arouse discontent among the people he lead. They will think that a leader with lofty manner, egocentric pride and always runs ahead of others is only a dictator, a dispot and will not try their best to work after him. Then he who lead in this manner will finally be dismissed by his underling. So, when a leader come to the stage of leading people, the sense of competition could not ensure the leader's leadership, while the sense of cooperation, which aims at not only the improvement of a sigle person, but the community as whole, will help the leader make his team a organic complex and leading every person to perform his best ability. Once the leader gain the sense of cooperation, he will try to  put down this lofty manner and begin to discover and treasure the people he leads, he will appreciate and releasing each person's potential so as to make the maximum benefit for the whole community. And only at this time, the people he lead will finally consider him as a competent leader and advocate him.

Admittedly, these two stage that forms a leader are not strictly divided, they often overlap each other from time to time, just as a good soldier could also encourage this team to fight as a unity, a commerial leader should also keep the mind of making self-improvement in order to compete the other leaders. These two factors does exist in both stage that forms a leader. but the one that dominate does varies during the process. so to determine what kind of sense should a society instill into its people to become leaders depend on certain situation.

In sum, both the sense of competition and cooperation is vital to the forming of a leader, while these two virtues dominate different stage of that process.

我认为题目中所说的那个cuccess指的就是“becoming a leader"，这个我是从后面的那句 ”a society can better prepare its young people for leadership by instilling in them a sense of cooperation.“看出的，不知道有没有和我持相同意见的？

我整篇文章想表达的就是这个意思”competition让人获得leadership而cooperation让人stay in governing station“。不过你所说的第三段有点牵强我有点不明白，能够解释一下吗，呵呵，我有点笨苯呀～～

总的说来，这篇写得不好，我正在改。
