The Research Scholarship includes a (partial) tuition waiver and a monthly stipend. You have the option of signing a Service Obligation Agreement, which entitles you to full tuition waiver and obligates you to work in Singapore for 3 years upon graduation (cf. http://www.nus.edu.sg/admissions ... holarships-nrs1.php).For those who do not choose to work in Singapore after graduation, a partial tuition fee subsidy will be awarded. Fees for Academic Year 2012/2013 have not been announced so based on the figures in the current academic year, the subsidy will be S$9,220 while the students will have to pay a S$6,170 per academic year. The monthly stipend is $2,000/month before passing the PhD qualifying exam and $2,500/month after passing the qualifying exam. You are expected to work for a few (not more than 6) hours per week as a grader or a teaching assistant, as required for all Research Scholarship holders of NUS.

Research Scholars will be given a monthly stipend and tuition fee subsidy. For Research Scholars in a Masters/Graduate Programme, the monthly stipend is S$1,500. For Research Scholars in a Ph.D.programme, monthly stipend for International Students is S$2,000.
With effect from January 2013, there will be two options available with regards to tuition fee subsidy:
- Full tuition fee subsidy is awarded if the Research Scholar chooses to work in a Singapore-registered company for 3 years upon graduation. Please refer to the Service Obligation Scheme for more details
- For those who do not choose to work in Singapore after graduation, a generous tuition fee subsidy equal to the fee payable by students with Service Obligation will be awarded

Research Scholars in a Ph.D. programme may be eligible for an additional stipend of up to $500 per month upon passing the Ph.D. qualifying examination, which is normally held 12 to 18 months after registration of candidature. The additional stipend is renewable annually subject to good performance and duration of the additional stipend varies among the different faculties and schools.
不是With effect from January 2013么？对2012年八月份入学的没影响啊？
