明年1月去CMU做visiting scholar, 因为研究方向是computer vision， 做好了被check 的准备， 忐忑不安的去签证了。。。前面如何排队啥的就不说了，因为和前面介绍过的帖子一样，我就直接上签经了，面我的是个中东帅哥。
对话：
w（我）: Good morning sir, nice to meet you.(笑了一下，但是签证GG没看见）
o(officer): nice to meet you, would you pass me your material.
w: sure! here you go.
w: I am here to apply for my J-1 visa, as a visiting scholar to Carnegie Mellon University.
o:......(没说话，汗！）
o: so why are you going to America.
w: My adviser Prof. XXXX is now a professor in CMU, and he invite me to join in his team as a visiting scholar next year. So I want to go to the U.S. to join in his team to work as a research associate.
o: What kind of research?
w: computer sciences.
o: Robot stuff?( 陷阱啊！）
w: No, not exactly, it is computer vision, computer vision has a lot of general applications, for example, it can be combined with computer graphics to apply in computer games and entertainment industry.( 这是没办法，往general上靠)
o: Just entertainment, not Robot??( 陷阱， 还不死心）
w: No, not Robot! (死扛）
o: Do you have relatives or friends in the U.S.?
w: No!.....
(这时突然想起表姐在哥伦比亚读硕士，应该算是relative, 而且朋友在美国不在少数， 完了，觉得自己撒谎了，他查到可能要据我了， 而且永久不得入境~~~于是乎赶紧补救）
w：Actually, I have a cousin who is studying in the U.S....(还没说完。。。签证GG直接说了句...)
o:  You passed.
w: (欣喜若狂，又想到可能要check，于是多问了句） Thank you, how much time should I wait before I get my visa?
o: about a week or less. (看来没被check)
最后高兴得没说have a good day就离开了，觉得少了点什么。

其实整个签证下来，觉得还是要强调不想移民，和专业不敏感性， 我是J-1visa， 必须回国呆两年，所以签证官也就不问我未来规划了，直接问是不是Robot，虽然CMU的那个部门确实叫Robot institute， 但是你可以强调学科的general use, 淡化敏感性。 再有，今天碰上在6号窗口的签证官，貌似心情不好，一直板着脸，有个去印第安纳州立大学的女生被他直接问: Where is indianna? Tell me location. 然后又问接下来的人内华达州在哪里，感觉就想拒人。 有个美国MM长得好漂亮，在8号窗口，貌似不错，挺想在她那里的，不过10号中东帅哥也不错，水果~~
