看过新G题库的同学都会发现有很多题干明明一样的issue题目，指导语是不一样的，比较常见的是这两种：

1、be sure to address the most compelling reasons and/or examples that could be used to challenge your position.

2. you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.

我觉得第二种很好对付，就是分类讨论么，高中数学不一直分类讨论的么，写文章也习惯分类讨论。
就拿149.Nations should pass laws to preserve any remaining wilderness areas in their natural state来说，很容易就得出两种情况，一种是发达国家或者森利资源开发殆尽的国家，一种是贫穷的森林资源没怎么开发过的国家。

但第一种就比较困难。。。most compelling reasons or examples。。。最强的反例。。。我怎么想也想不不到

比如我的观点是题目太绝对了。

然后正文部分都是反驳啊。。。。。

简单来说，这句话中“that”很关键，从结构看不难理解定语从句，从句是对主句宾语的补充。修饰reason和example，并不是对你写作的直接要求。直接要求就是要你address the most compelling reasons（最有说服力的理由），从句只是对于compelling reason的一个解释，ETS怕你不懂什么样的理由才是most compelling的....故而接个从句告诉你，是那些能够被用来质疑或者说是挑战你的观点的理由。

我是这样理解的，这里定语从句紧跟修饰词，没有逗号，说明是个限制性定语从句，对先行词不单单补充，而是起到了限制和确定的作用，拿掉后整句意思会发生变化。

另外如果按照我的理解，那么这个address就是对付的意思，也讲得通。

你说的没错，限制性定语从句其从句部分对主语有限制作用，但是定语从句的根本作用是修饰.....此处的限制确实是必要的，它限定的是most compelling reason的要求，这个要求只对先行词有效，确定了compelling reason的成分，而不是对于文章的要求....

另外，如果按你所说address作“对付”解释，那么对付的就是most compelling reason咯？请问，issue的题目中何处是most compelling reason？如果你认为要先自己写出most compelling reason，你如何证明你写的是most的？其次，既然已经是most compelling reason了，那还怎么去对付？能够被对付的，还能称之为most compelling吗？这不是自相矛盾么？

还有，issue是立论，而不是驳论，ETS也没有发文说完全改变AW的总体布局。那么其总体框架依旧是不变的，如果此处要去对付的话，岂不是又写一篇argu？

我明白你的意思了，你是觉得ETS的要求有些矛盾是吧？要考生adress the most compelling reasons，但却是要challenge 自己的position. 感觉理解下来就是要自己先给出的reason是要去反对自己的立场。

如果是要求真的去反驳就不会是这种表达了，直接 to challenge your position岂不是更贴切？

此处从句中的谓语是could be，本可以...，也就是之前可以challenge your position的，但现在不行了，表否定。如果你漏掉了某些至关重要的论据没有说明的话，那么别人就可以通过这方面来argu。
