Thank you for updating me about the progress of your application to UF. I had previously asked you how you plan to fund the PhD studies. If you wish to obtain funding assistance from UF, that can be arranged but I will need advance notice because it can take a very long time to obtain the necessary grant. Our proposal deadline for this year has just passed (21 November), so it will be too late to apply for student funding for next year.

之前他基本确定收我了，问过我一次是要自费还是公费，我给他回了邮件说希望公费的，结果他一直没回。等急了这次我把材料的电子版也给他了，他就这样说，我也不懂美国的政策，官网上奖学金截止日期是2月份的（由于专业原因，比较晚）。现在他又问我的决定，我真不懂该怎么回啊……

我觉得如果是你非常想跟他的话，就告诉他你可以申请external support。比如csc什么的。
