Now please look at the map I giving you of house and gardens. We, here, at the information Information centerCenter, follow the path marked with the arrow ['ærəu] 箭头. And the first area you come to is the orchard ['ɔ:tʃəd] 果园 on your left. After you go further down the path, there’s a kitchen garden on your right. I suggest you spend a good hour wandering around this lovely building.  A guide takes visitor groups suround every two hours.
If you would like to buy  purchase any of George’s book or other souvenirs [,su:və'niə, 'su:vəniə] 纪念品，then leave the house by the side antion entrance  where you will find a shop which is situated between the shop house and Garries  garage which contain a significant  the magnificent old Rolls-Royce…..roles car, which used to belong to George. I expect by this time you may also be in need of a rest and have some refreshment most visitors are. So why don’t you visit a tea room on the far side of galarge garage. If you have time, there is a lovely walk down to the worlds towards the river River Dowtwell Dudwell. To  for me, this is the best part of the estate(财产；身份). This isn’t on the map. But it is all clear sine posted signposted（标示）. You cross the field which sped round the bank of the river. In spring, this area is well rough  worth a visited. Spend a minute or two watching the water passed by underneath as you cross the footbridge. And then continue along the river walk through the watherland woodland.  On the hot summer’s day, the trees along the list this path part providing e walping  welcome shade. Eventuarelly, you come to the watermill, which is used to provide electricity for the house,Only about four hours in evening in George’s time. We really need to get working on marketing assignment. We only get 5 weeks left at the end of the term to design it, carry it out and then write up the result.
Sure, well, let’s get it out started right now. Let’s go over the structures instructions. What exactly do we have to do?
Well, it says here we have to look at one area of entertainment industry. there a list of different types.
……….
So we choose one ?? branch of the industry and then we look at how two different groups of people used it. That’s right?
And do we have to use any particular method to get our data? Do can we mail out a questionnaire, need questionairy or do face to face interviews, or even observations?
Well, actually, it looks like we don’t have a choice. We have to do telephone interviews.
OK…. So At least we don’t have to wasted time to deciding e between different methods.  
The other requirement is the number of requieers.interviewees
Not too many, I hope. 10, 20.
Well, we have to do two groups for members,remember,. And it looks like we have to interview 15 for each group.
30 altogether. It …is going..to takeing ages.
Remember we work on this together. So we only have to do 15 each.
Ok, so those rulers  all the  requirements? So first, which area are you going to choose? My preference will be cinemas and start since that’s where I spending most of my money.
I don’t think it’s a good idea. I don’t think there is a huge differences in that market there. I mean you get the young and old, male and female, rich and poor, all get to the same movies.
Maybe you are right. let’s go tomake it the music.
So what’s two groups would we compare to control.
Male and female?
Most of my female friends like the same music like me. Different age groups will much more like to share  show up differences, I think.

How about kinds of music they like? Let’s give them some choices as we can just take tick boxes.
Then we should have how they listen to the music.
What about concerts, you know, in pub or hols hall???
Where they actually get their extriry - music?
You mean like do they buy t it music shop or department stores. Or download in the internet.
Right, that could be for recorded music. Another session  section for live music.
Disco, pub, club, concert hall.
Opera house. And I think we should need karaoke bars.
Not many of them in this city.

Today， we are going to move on to the period between 4 and 6 hundred years ago, known as the Neolithic period. Which is when a total farming economy with introduce in Ireland.
There are several hypothesis about the origins of first ?? settlers in the Ireland. But most of these contain problems. For instance, there are considerable archeological(考古学的) difficulties about the theory that they came from the England. The evidence really doesn’t add up. But there are even great practical problems about the theory they came directly from the Europe. The farming economy would almost certainly require much larger community to do all the work needed to plant and tend to sufficient crops to sustain them through the year.
The early farmers kept various animals including cattle and sheep. There also evidence of pigs, but it is possible that these could be descended from（从...传下来） native wild species. Now we know from modern farming that if the level of breeding stock falls below about 300 females. The future of speech locally is at risk. So we must assume that from the beginning of Neolistic farming the number of breeding sheep would considerably exceed 300. And the national cattle herd must be in the same side. The question is how they were brought from the area and where they came from. It is usually suggested that the Neolitic settlers use the skin covered boat to transport livestock. But this method was severely restricted the rang of colonizing(殖民)  fleets(舰队). The sheer(绝对的，透明的) volume（体积，量） of animal transport necessary means it’s unlikely that this livestock could be brought from anywhere further than England. What about crops? Well, two main cereal(谷类的，谷物的) crops were introduced to Ireland this time, wheat and barley(大麦), both in several varieties. The main evidence for their presence consists of impression of their pottery(陶瓷)，where several grain accidently became embedded in the surface of the pot before it was fired. So first, I will explain how the teams are divided up, and then we will give you colorful T-shirts that I will identify you more easily.
First of all, those who will be looking after the phones and handing all the calls regarding the exhibition, you will be on the red team. Now, we also put the entrance staff on the red team, and you will be stamping（冲压） the entrance tickets and giving out the publicity leaflets ['li:flit] 传单、手册, OK? Those of you involving in distributing entrance tickets would be in the yellow team. And we’ve also put those of you who will be staffing the information booths(询问处) around the conference center on the yellow team. So you’ll get the yellow T-shirts. Right, now everyone know their team in, we’ll get you an orientation in the training program. And first, I’ll run through our today’s program which you should have in front of you, so that you can get a general idea of what else in store today. This introduction is finished at 9:30. And they will be hearing from XXX. Ann works in accounts department on level 2. And she looks after all temporary（临时的） staff. And so she is the person to see if you have any problems regarding pay. She will also be handing out your tax forms. And I will just stressed that all tax forms must complete and return to Ann before your pay can be processed.  Following Ann’s talk, you’ll hear from Peter Cheng, our conference manager, and he will be going over a plan of conference center with you which will help you orient yourselves. He will also go through the security of arrangements with you and show you the fire exits. Then at 10:30, there would be a coffee break in the staff canteen, which is located on the ground floor. After the break, we’ll be moving to a different location for a video presentation. So, instead of coming back here, we’d like you all go to Lecture room 311. You’ll find it on this same level just on the hall. And there you’ll show a video about safety issues called Safety At Work. We’ll finish off the morning with lunch, which should give everyone a chance to meet and get to know each other, and we’ll serve you in the Buffy Lunch and Main Hall, which is on the first floor from 12:00 o’clock. B: Well, the school of education has library on two sites as I’m sure you know. The site I show you is Fordham, and the other is for Castle Road.
A: And is there any difference between two libraries?
B: not in terms of their facilities. Access to online databases and the Internet is available in both sites. And each site has a range of reference material on education.  
A: I see.
B: but the Castle Road site has the sociology of education. And a collection of textbooks and teaching resources covering most of the subjects taught in secondary school.
A: oh, right, but I’m training to be a primary teacher. So I need to look at materials for 5-11 age group.
B: then you’ve come to the right place. At Fordham we hold the materiel relating to primary school as well as special needs. But of course, you need to familiarise yourself with(知晓) both sites to make the most of our resources.
A: you haven’t mention periodicals（期刊）. Are they held in both sites?
B: Current issues, yes. But if you want to look at back issues, you need to use CD Rom databases which are held here in the Fordam.
A: I see, now about borrowing books, I’m living out of town, so I’m hoping I can borrow quite a few items, and cut down on a number of trips I have to make.
B: right, well, members can borrow 2 books at a time for each site.
A: only two books?
B: only two for each site. But that’s 4 altogether.
A: and how long can I hang on to them for?
B: the borrowing period is one month, but of course books can be renewed. You can renew any item a maximum of three times.
A: do I have to come to the library to do that?
B: no, you can do it by telephone or email. But you can’t renew overdue books this way. Only before or on the due date stamped the book. We’ll need your full name, your borrow number and name of site library you borrow the items from
A: so theoretically, I can borrow books for up to three months. Is that what you were saying?
B: yes, provide that you were not recalled.
A: so what happens then?
B: Well sometimes the item is request by another borrower, in which case we will send you a letter, and you have to return the books within the seven working days. And don’t forget we are closed on Sundays.
A: OK


A: I’ll expect it’ll take me a while to find what I need. There’s such a lot here.
B: but if you need help to get started, this term we are running 3 study skills workshops.
A: what are they on?
B: the first one is on resources. How to use the library resources. That includes everything, not just the print, technical resources.  
A: is there anything on using on the internet?
B: the one on internet for beginners was last term. This term is finding research materials online.
A: what’s the last one?
B : it’s a workshop for dissertations.
A: what do you mean? How to write one?
B: no, it’s more to do with academic writing conventions. You know, writing a bibliography(参考书目)  and how to refer to resources in your text. That’s sort of things. Anyway, here is a leaflet with information about all three.
