there are a few positions for international Ph.D. students at UC Riverside:  

1. Environmental Toxicology: we look for a self-motivated researcher to   
create fluorescent/luminescent protein based biosensors, or genetic   
code expanded organisms to sense environmental toxins and chemicals.   
Preferred are these trained in molecular biology or environmental sciences.

2. Chemistry: we search for a researcher to engineer proteins/synthesize
molecules that can be used to interrogate biochemical pathways.
Ideal candidates should have experience in organic chemistry, fluorescence
analysis or protein chemistry.

3. Cell Molecular and Developmental Biology: we search for a researcher to create
molecular tools that can be used to interrogate biochemical pathways. Ideal
candidates should have experience in protein engineering, molecular or cell biology.

Our projects will enable students to develop expertise in a combination   
of protein engineering, organic synthesis, molecular and cell biology,   
microscopic imaging, and mass spectrometry.   
   
UCR is one of the ten general campuses of the University of California system.   
Specifically, Chemistry is ranked in the top 51-75 chemistry departments   
worldwide, according to the Shanghai Jiao Tong Academic Ranking of World   
Universities.In addition, Riverside is close to both Los Angeles and San Diego,   
and is a part of south California where a vibrant Biotech industry resides. As a   
suburb of Los Angeles, Riverside is separated enough to keep its safe, quiet   
and affordable environment, but remains an easy access to the big-city life.

生物当然可以申请。今年要求比较高一点，GRE起码要1200 （新考试300分）， 很多申请者都是1300以上的。

忘了说， ETox有全奖的。第一年是fellowship。不过需要尽快完成材料，包括推荐信和分数。GPA的话要有3.6以上才会比较有希望。

好像老G1200 不等于新G的300分吧？我新G 只考了299 好像转换一下只有1050左右呢。不过谢谢了， 我昨天晚上发了邮件问了那个Ai老师，她说太低了，不能收呢。本来还想申请看看的，因为我的GPA也有3.54。 还有我本科在美国上的， 有助教和实验做实验一年的经验， 也有得到得到过美国National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Science Foundation (NSF) Fellowship。很失望呢。 不过谢谢分享了。

你也可以试着完成你的申请材料。每一份完整的材料都会被仔细考虑。你有NIH 和NSF fellowship会增加很多分。机会很大。另外，你是移民吗？domestic student竞争不如international激烈。你要是美国绿卡或者护照要容易很多。不要放弃 ： ）
要弄的话，尽快完成。太晚了错过了committee的会议。
