Graduate Student position
Dr Jonathan Loh Yuin-Han has beenawarded the A*STAR Investigatorship Award (2011) and has recently started theEpigeneticsand Cell fatesLaboratory at Institute of Medical Biology. The laboratory is interested indissecting the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms regulating cell fate changes,while developing novel tools and strategies in deriving differentiated celltypes via defined factors reprogramming.
A graduate student position isavailable from Mar 2012. Applicants with relevant background in Molecular Biology,Cell Biology, Biochemistry or related fields are invited to apply. Experiencewith Genomics or animal works would be highly desirable though not essential.Successful candidates must be highly motivated, have passion for research andbe able to work in an interdisciplinary environment.
Requirements:
-B.Sc. or M.Sc. from awell-recognized institution with a strong research background in celland molecular biology
- Strong publication record inpeer-reviewed journals
-Committed and able to work flexible hours
-Ability to conduct high-quality independent research with excellent analytical,technical and problem solving skills.
-Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills

Biography:


Loh Yuin-Han Jonathan is a Principle Investigator at the Institute of MedicalBiology, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the National University ofSingapore. He received his B.Sc. in Cellular and Molecular biology with First class honoursfrom the National University of Singapore (NUS). He did his Ph.D. study as oneof the pioneering batch of students under the A*Star Graduate scholarship, inthe laboratory of Dr Ng Huck Hui at the Genome Institute of Singapore. There heelucidated the link between the genetic and epigenetic regulationmechanisms controlling ES cells. This resulted in the discovery of twochromatin modifiers that are necessary in determining the ES cell fate.He then started his Postdoctoralfellowship with Professor George Q. Daley at the Howard Hughes Medical Institutein the Children’s Hospital Boston at Harvard Medical School. There, he focusedon developing innovative technologies to engineer defined factor cell fatereprogramming. Jonathan shownfor the first time that terminally differentiated human blood cells can beepigenetically reprogrammed to pluripotent stem cells. Jonathan’s work has been published in top international journalssuch as Nature, Nature Genetics, and Cell Stem Cell. His articles have beencited over 2800 times and were highlighted and featured by Science Magazine as“top 10 Breakthroughof the Year 2010” and the MIT Technology Review. Jonathan is a recipient ofseveral awards including the Quest Technology award (1997), Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking CorporationScholarship (2002),Philip Yeo prize (2008), SingaporeYoung Scientist award for Biological and Biomedical Sciences (2009), SingaporeYouth award for Science and Technology (2010) and the A*STAR Investigatorship Award (2011).
He is currently on theEditorial board of PlosONE journal, Gene journal, American Journal of Molecular Biology and World Journal of StemCells.

可惜专业不对口,楼主还有其他Ph.D position 介绍吗?我在A*star的官网怎么没找到啊
