1月30日 101031NA Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is often not a good thing for people to move to a new town or a new country because they will lose their friends.


With the rapid development of transportation and economic, more and more people can move from one place to another easily.  Whether moving to a new place is good or not is a tough question.  Some people claim that moving to a new town or a new country is not a good thing due to the consequence that one may lose his/her friends.  However, I hold the opposite opinion, that is moving to a new place is always a good thing to do.

First of all, moving to a new town or a new country can not only broaden one’s horizon but also improve one’s level of knowledge because there are a lot more to learn about in an unfamiliar place.  For example, I took a coarse last summer in Beijing and it is a very valuable experience.  I learned a lot from the people there and gradually knew about this amazing city in China for its fascinating history and modern development.

Furthermore, one can make great friends in the new environment.  In the brand new environment, and with the new friend, one’s thinking pattern may change towards a more sophisticated one.  Meeting new guys is always a fantastic life experience.

In addition, although moving to a new town or a new country means one has to depart from one’s old friends, but it does not necessarily means that one will lose them.  As a consequence of well-developed technology, one can communicate with friends even on the other side of our planet through Internet or telephone.  Losing friends should not be a consequence one has to consider when one need to move to a new place in modern society.

From the discussion above, we can safely draw a conclusion that it is always a good thing to move to a new town or a new country for there is nothing to lose but a lot to gain.
