一直在纠结NCSU的Open House,,,觉得太远了，，不太想去，，但是不去还觉得机会走了挺可惜的，，大家肿么想的，，，有木有想去的~~~

我也纠结，那天正好有两门考试，去不了呃。。。我在想去了的话是不是拿到funding的机会大些？可以趁机见见老师套一套？

是啊，，问题是好远啊，，，我昨天注册了那个，，他家的funding是很少的，，去的话机会会大些，我觉得，，但是也说不好，，你说万一和教授谈问题，，他万一问个我不懂得，，就郁闷了，，在纠结中。。。

这是从testmagic上看到的消息，希望对你有帮助吧。

I'm not sticking around for the PhD so I won't be dealing with any funding issues, but I know about a million people who are trying to get some. The situation seems to be that almost no students get first year funding. Contingent upon passing the qualifying exams after your first year, you may be eligible for eligible for funding after that.

I think the most common scenario is that if you pass Prelims on your first try (both micro and macro), then you can get a tuition waver after that. But you probably won't get funding, unless there is a TA or RA ship available.

Certainly if you're American, or better yet a resident of North Carolina, then the process is easier. The funding situation is quite bleak, yes.

“I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that, following initial review by the admissions committee, you are being considered for funding via a teaching assistantship or research assistantship. Final decisions regarding funding awards will be made in early March and communicated on March 15, 2012. In the correspondence you receive on March 15 you will learn whether you are being offered an award or being placed as an alternate for an award. ”

这是虾米意思？是不是大家的邮件里都是这么说的？还是说明拿到funding的机会比较大？
