Some people believe that people should follow their ambitious dreams and goals even they are not realistic, others believe that people should focus on achieving realistic goals.



Everyone has an ambitious dream and wants to get achievements. But the question that if we have enough abilities to realize dreams, is worth considering. So many people focus on complying realistic goals, and that is the way which I approve to.

To begin with, for most people, to achieve a realistic goal is within your touch. Relatively speaking, ambitious dreams may not be easy to comply, let alone those unrealistic fantasies.
Many people have their dreams, but only stop in dreams. Because there’re a large number of difficulties obstruct them to succeed, or the difficulties just frighten them which lead to a beginning without action. However, a realistic goal, which the striver could see it, probably makes hardness become less difficult to overcome. For instance, my ambitious dream is to work in the Louvre, which seems to be impossible for now on. So I got myself into a realistic goal – to become a gallery manager, which I have already achieved.

Moreover, self-confidence brought by your last successfully achievement, can give you sufficient encourage to comply the next target. Once you got one of your goals, you would know that you have strength to face the challenges ahead. This confidence can be accompanied by your life, which makes your life abundant and meaningful. Unfortunately, a part of those who have great dreams finally be dragged down by their dreams, and they just turn out to be nothing.


The most important thing I consider is that, actually, realistic goals can become the basis of realizing the ultimate dreams. As I mentioned above,
to become a member of the Louvre is my desire, hence having become an art manager is one little step on the road to my ultimate goal. My next goal is to go abroad to learn advanced knowledge of art management, and these realistic goals will make my ambitious dreams more and more close to me. I believe my dream will come true, through a realistic approach.

In summary, to focus on complying realistic goals is a sensible choice, which will become an important part of the way achieving your ambitious dreams in the future.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is often not a good thing to move to a new city or a new country because of the lose of old friends.


Friendship is the one we pay out truly and regard as a treasure in our whole life. Thus, some people are unwilling to move to a new city or a new country because they may lose their old friends. In my opinion, they just have too much concern, and we will not lose our friends so easy.

To begin with, a solid friendship will not fade by distance. Sometimes, the problem even makes us know our friendship better. Thanks to the increasing development of technology, especially the technological advanced in computer and internet, geological distance is no longer the barricade of communication. people get touch each other by networks, like Facebook and Twitter. For instance, One of my best friend is thousands miles away from me, but we still share our emotion and ideas a lot, by internet and cellphones.

Moreover, when we get to a new place, we make new friends. Admittedly, moving to a new place means the people and environment are so different and unfamiliar that it would take us a while to get adaptation. However, thinking in term of the good outcome, it is also a perfect timing for us to know about a fresh culture, and establish new friendships. Moving to a new place just give us a chance to get new perspective on society, and we will benefit a lot.

In addition, our social circle can be expanded by letting our old friends and new friends meet together. Friends are very important to us in our society. The more friends you make, the probability you achieve success is greater. Not only can you get more opportunities to exchange information and ideas, but also both our old and new friends.

To sum up, it is no doubt that moving to a new city or a new country will not lead to lose our old friends. We even get more improvements by establish new friendships with some other people in a new place.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? College or University should offer students more preparation before they start working.

As society develops, work opportunities grow, while competitions increase as well. Numerous universities give students preparation like introducing internships and holding jobs fairs, before they graduate. But should universities offer more preparation? In my view, I think schools have done enough for us.

To begin with, some of students who blame schools for not giving more preparation, fail to realize their own problems. Actually schools do they a lot, but they just lose the chance. For instance, one of my cousin, Nancy, did not catch up with a recruitment prepared by her college, then lost an internship opportunity again last week. For those students not having been ready to start working, the schools also do more to be no avail.

Moreover, students shouldn't expect the university to do everything for them. It's definitely an advantage to the student if the college or university can set them up with internships or co-op work experience prior to graduation. However, a student excessively depends on the university will finally lose competitiveness in real society. We can not just wait schools to bring us chances, instead, we need to be aggressive in seeking out internship opportunities ourselves.

In addition, the most important mission for universities is imparting knowledge and educate people. If they pay too much attentions on preparing employments of students, they will put the cart before the horse. What should really colleges and universities offer students more is to raise teaching quality and improve the interaction between teachers and students. Thus, students could prepare for working more confidently and to face the challenges better in the future.

As far as I concerned, colleges and universities  have done sufficient parathion for students. Then what students need is striving, for their own career and success.

One of your classmates needs help with some schoolwork. Which solution would you recommend your classmate should do: to ask you for hlpe or to find a professorial tutor for help. Include reasons and details to in your response.

Students in school always have their own adept subjects. For me, I 'm doing well in biology. Hence, my friends will ask me about biological questions. It is my honor to help them with my ability, but sometimes I feel helpless with the questions like "how to learn biology better" asked by Frank, one of my best friends. In my opinion, I will strongly advice him to get some help from a tutor in biology field.   

To begin with, having a tutor can make his learning easier and more exhaustive. A tutor is someone with teaching qualification admitted by university, who is definitely more professional in the biology field than me. A tutor can give Frank a systematic introduction on  biology so that he could grasp easier and faster, while I can only depend on my own experiences which might not apply to him.   

Moreover, a tutor could provide my friend the best help with any problem that he comes across while studying biology. When he makes a mistake, the teacher can immediately point it out and recommend him the best strategies to solve it. Thus he won’t make the same mistake again later. However, I might be worry about if I could provide the best method to solve the problem or even might have given the wrong suggestion. Accordingly, to have a tutor for Frank is what I can do to help him properly.  

The most significant aspect of the question I consider is that, learning from a tutor can be efficient to Frank. Because of the intimate friendship between us, we both may hardly be able to concentrate on the teaching-and-learning method. For example, if a basketball game show starts that we may just put down the mission and turn on the TV instead.  To sum up, many factors indicate that to find a tutor to teach my friend Frank is a sensible choice. I’m sure I could do him some help, but the tutor can give him what is more suitable and effective.
