3月24日 100213NA Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People who cannot accept criticism will not succeed in a team.
Although most of people in the daily life don’t like being criticized by others, a person who is willing to accept criticism is more successful as a team member. As you can see, advice from others always encourage people to be more all-rounded. So one kind of the advice, the criticism, may lead people to be mature.
People who can not accept criticism from other team members always regard the project from a monotonous perspective, which can not create a success. Take my own experience for example, when I worked at a company as an intern, one day I was responsible for buying a bunch of flower to our department meeting which was held in the afternoon. Unfortunately, there were not enough flowers we wanted in the flower store near our company. Then I decided to go to another flower store, but I forgot to report to my manager. Since the meeting time was approaching, one of my colleagues, lily called to me,after knowing the situation I faced with, she criticized me and suggested I come back to the company. However, I did not take her advice, because I thought what I bought should be accordance with the number my manager told me. Eventually, I was late for the meeting and my manager got into angry. In this case, I only considered one side of the task, while I neglected the importance of the other side. If I had taken lily’s advice, I would not have failed.
In addition, people who are reluctant to absorb the blames from others are not able to get along with their team members. As a result, the whole team can not succeed, and each member doesn’t obtain the good score of course. Bob is a famous basketball player, and he is not willing to accept the critism from his coach. So he cannot match the whole strategy with his teammates and he is alone in the team. Gradually, the whole team always loses the games which leads to bob’s unemployment. From this story, we can learn that before achieving the success, the team members should cooperate in harmony. A member like bob will not get the good result because of his proud behaviors.
What’s more, although critism is not always true, it can promote people to reflect his behaviours and go through a successful path. Jim, one of my friends, often shows a smile to those who are opposed to his ideas in his group. He tells me he regards these different opinions as a motivation to be more sophisticated. He believed that his experience to be increased by various advice give him a chance to be successful in his group.Recently, he will become a leader of his department.
In a nutshell, accepting critism from other members in a team always benefits people whether the critism is true or not. Those who are open-minded to adopt different ideas are certainly to be more mature and successful. |
