Some people think university professors should spend more time doing research while others think they should spend more time educating students. What is your view?

Although a majority of teachers in college depend on doing research to get their ranks such as professor, the most fundamental duty for a schoolmaster is to pass knowledge on to those naïve students. It is education that makes students learn a lot from their guiders. So this plays an significant role in campus.
First of all, since students are most concerned-group in university, teachers should focus on their interests to spend more time educating them. A survey reported by China Daily indicates that those first-class colleges in china all bear a common princile of student-centered education. This not only means students should speak their opinions more frequently , but also teachers should set out a detailed teaching-schedule before class, carry out this plan effectively and correct the disadvanges of this process after school. Those arduous tasks take much time for teachers to prepare, but it is worthwhile for them to accomplish their objects and cultivate excellent students.
Second, emphasis on education also benefits those professors. Through communicating with students, professors come up with more creative ideas, which can be put into their researches. Take my tutor for example, he is studying a thesis about insurance business recently. He always relunctant to exchaneg his opinions with us in class. Accidently, I once worked in a fomous insurance company and was familiar with the procedures of insurance policy applied in sales. Fortunately, these experiences help my tutor a lot on his project because he lacks in practical skills on this field. Last Tuesday, my tutor told me he was confident to receive an award in academic forum. In fact, if he spent more time in research, he would not obtain my assistence to perfect his academic project.
What is more, if professors spend more time to do the research, the quaility of education will decrease, which results in defamation of colleges. This chain reaction is that government offers fewer financial support to the university and insufficient fund of research can not ensure professors do well in projects. Therefore, it will be a win-win situation if professors put more emphasis on impart useful information to those young but vigorous students.
In a nut shell, university professors should set aside more time to educate students ,which benefits students, teachers ,and even colleges.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? An effective leader should try to make others feel that they are part of the decision making process.

Although a leader plays an important role in a group, group members should be regarded as a indispensable part during the decision making process. This involvement will promote the whole group to accomplish an excellent achievement.
First of all, participations makes more creative ideas. if a leader can not make others participant in deciding whether to do , he or she will not be an effective leader. For example, when I was an intern in an insurance company two years ago, my boss always encourages us to involve in business events. There was an annual meeting in our department, and definitely my manager really focus on it. So he asked some suggestions from every employee who will attend the party, and then every employee come up with some good ideas and carry them out. Consequetly, my department gained a success and also was praised by CEO. This instance tell me that an efficient and effective leader promotes group members’ initiative in order to achieve what the whole group wants.
Second, involvement helps group members get resect from their leader, which motivate them to do better than before. Making others involve in the decision making process, the leader will gain the loyalty from his or her partners. Take my friend for example, he and his colleagues are always trusted by their leader,Lily. Everytime their group have something emergent, they are used to solving the problem by all members including Lily. My friend tell me that he feels a sense of equality when he discusses the settlements with his leader, and even he once argued with Lily on a certain issue. However, Lily did not get angry and oppositely, she admitted she was wrong. Recently, my friend was persuaded to another company by his former classmate, but he refused that chance because he thought he should be loyal to his employer,Lily who once gave him too many opportunities to show his talents. This story indicates that an effective leader should give space for group members to voice their own opinions.
In a nut shell, an intelligent leader should involve his or her members in the decision making process, which benefits all people in the group.

When it comes to the discussion whether the government should spend more money on art museums and concert halls or recreational facilities such as swimming pools and playgrounds, an overwhelming majority of people claims that art museums and concert halls plays an important role in people’s life because they cultivate people’s interests on art. However, with the mounting concern over the health of people, I strongly recommend more recreational facilities should be built for the sake of people’s healthy lives.
First of all, recreational facilities help people relieve of pressure. Recently , a survey conducted by National Sanitation Bureau shows that more than 65 percent of people seldom go to health club for fitness because they can not afford member fees. This indicates there are not enough recreational facilites in the market for all ranges of people. So the government should have a detailed budget of establishing different kinds of swimming pools , playgrounds and so on, which will satisfy various people’s needs. In fact, if the government put more fund on these projects, there are more and more public recreational facilities which benefit those ordinary people. Also, this encourages people to exercise or relax.
Second, compared to the recreational facitlities, art museums and concert halls have already receive support from government for several times. Last year, one of butterfly muesums near my home was renovated for twice. Although it is vital for authority to emphasize the cultural industries , other public facilities such as swimming pool or playground also require more sponsors to be refreshing. This can be demonstrated by an example of a small badminton club surrounding my university. The owner of this club tells me that he will not maintain the business if the government does not support him until this year. It is a pity that a convenient site is approaching to being pulled down. At this point, it is really emergent time that government gave funds to those recreational facilities.
In a nutshell, it is more worthwile for government to spend more money on recreational facilities.
