8.         fish in troubled water: try to gain an advantage from other people’s problems －浑水摸鱼，趁火打劫  During the decline of the stock market, some people fished in troubled waters and made big money.

9.         fishing for compliments: try to get someone to pay you a compliment  － 试图得到别人的恭维 （夸奖）
When she showed me her new dress, I could tell she was fishing for a compliment. 当她给我看她的新裙子时，我看得出她是想要我夸奖她一番。
