114.Humanity has made little real progress over the past century or so. Technological innovations have been taken place ,but the overall condition of humanity is no better. War, violence and poverty are still with us . Technology cannot change the condition of humanity.

Nowadays, technology has been highly developed and made profound influence on the society . On the one hand , humanity largely benefits from the technology , with its aid, we have lead a more and more comfortable life , most things become available and many accomplishments has been reached. On the another hand , however , technology brings us about many negative factors , which hamper the progress of society and damage to the humanity . Although those negative factors exist, it is unfair to say humanity has little real progress over past years .

Everything in this world is interrelating and interacting with each other , nothing can disobey this norm. When we got something , we lost something . As old saying goes :" there is not free lunch in the world." Thus , the development of technology irresistablely causes something we may not hope while taking us countless  beneficence
.As the productivity of the society develops , we can have various products for choice and can own a rather rich material live. However , since everything we have is from the nature directly or indirectly , the more we consume up, the less the nature remains ,especially those resources ,such as coal ,petroleum , forests ,etc, which once used up can  nearly impossibly form again but are too important to humanity. If the humanity wants to make progress , the nature must be destroyed .

Although War ,violence and poverty are still with us , most people usually emphasize on how serious they are damaging  to our society ,but fail to find out the progress of humanity in these bad things. In modern wars , with the help of high technologies,
it is no longer necessary for the soldiers from two sides to make a face-to-face conflict since there are so many distant weapons which can been used in the backyard of one side and have predicted effect on the other side , all they need to do is to manipulate these weapons with computers . As a result, there are much less deaths in modern wars compared to the past  ,so one of the most important human rights - living ,  is largely assured . In addition, in a society where peace and development are emphasized , people are paying increasing attention to the problems existing and making large  effort to solve them . In this case, given enough time , real progress will eventually be made.

As technology makes our ken becomes much broader than in the past, we own more and more knowledge which not only affects our ways to explore the world ,but also affect the way we regard the technology Originally, we deem technology as a holy thing as deny any reprimand .However, nowadays, we realize that technology is a double-edged sword -both a
blessing and a curse . Thus , we stop pursuing boundless and irrational improvement of technology , on the contrary , we are thinking in it and trying to orient it in the right track lest it is aberrant from ethics . When initially founded,  the unclear technology is used for the purpose of war, but now we use it mostly in order to do good to the public , therefore so many unclear power stations and other unclear institutions has been established .

In conclusion ,  since our society has made many progresses over past years with the help of technology ,  we need to continue leading technology towards the right way and make it more conducive to humanity. irrational ,excess utilization of technology are really harmful .
