个人觉得这个topic 并不是不好写, 但想说清楚有点parodoxical 的问题,似乎不那么容易, 兄弟们 and paisley,有空 帮我看看, 指点一下,好吗
183."As we acquire more knowledge, things do not become more comprehensible, but more complex and more mysterious."
The speaker presents a paradoxical topic in academic field. In my view, I strongly disagree with the speaker's contention that knowledge render things more complex and more mysterious. The speaker overlooks some basic facts and overstates the difficulty in further learning as we have acquired a certain degree of knowledge. Paradoxically, as we equip with more knowledge, things though might become more complicated, we yet have clearer and deeper perspective on the things we focus.
Admittedly, many of us might be deluded by the pretenses that as we know more about a thing, we seem gradually lose control of it and find that it becomes so complex and mysterious that we cannot have a clear picture of it. For supporting examples one need look no further than the modern mathematics science. In the remote past when our ancestor first invented the number of zero, and then the basic law of addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication, we benefit vastly from this knowledge and our living condition become more convenient. But, as considerable time past, as our scientists delved deeper in the field of mathematics, more and more new branches appeared and developed, such as calculus, theory of possibility, theory of array, fuzzy mathematics, number theory, and so forth, many of us find that we just lose control of it and cannot have a better comprehension on this subject as the acquisition of knowledge greatly augmented. Understandably, we naturally complain that things become harder to comprehend.
Nevertheless, the fact is that as we acquire more knowledge we learn the macro-,and micro-scopic world in more detail, more accurately and experience deeper insight of ourselves. Returning to the mathematics example mentioned above. Although common people might claim that the
modern mathematics have become more incomprehensible than ever before, it is acutally the very sign that we human have learn more accuratly about the law of nature and about the abstract world. For mathematic scientists, they can use the theory of possibility to predicte the
most possible occurrence which is hard to imagine before this subject formed.
Another telling example for supporting my point of view involves the area of astronomy and space exploration. In Middle Ages most of people have an mysterious outlook about the vast universe and curiously want to explore it. Apparently, in those day, people know little about the true universe. As the science and technology advances rapidly, especially the development of the astronomy, physics, and mechanics which makes accurate scientific observation and measurement possible, humankind knows more and more details about the mysterious universe. When the astronaut, Neil Armstong, first time landed on the moon with manned spaceship, human's knowledge about the universe have enlarged vastly. At one hand, more and more new, complicated phenomena in universe were discovered, and made us seemingly more and more losing control of this field, at the other hand, human learns deeper and deeper about principles of universe; therefore, the universe become more and more comprehensible as the development of technology and science, the improvement of observation and measurement tools.
Having known that things which we are focusing on is in fact become inherently more comprehensible, I would like to emphasize that it is as human's knowledge advances that things appears more and more complicated and needs to make harder endeavor to explain, analysis, evaluate, demystify its deeper perspectives and it is through such a
process that things,in turn, become clearer and easier to comprehand.
In sum, the speaker's viewpoint just touches the surface of the fact and fails to rule out the truth behind this paradoxical phenomenon. Therefore, on balance the speaker's view is fundamentally incorrect.
个人觉得正篇,一直强调一个notion, 但却又说不清楚,或说服力不过, 有时连自己多迷糊了。:( |
