Nowadays the spirit of scepticism is widely appreciated and proposed very much, as it can cultivate new knowledge and instill vitality into every research field or our daily life. While I agree that individuals should have a sense of scepticism, I doubt that it has been placed too much emphasis. I believe that a combination of conformity to authority and scepticism is called for.

First of all, being too sceptical with the authority can do damage to social harmony and stability. If in society, everyone would be so cynical with others' ideas that individualism would eventually prevail, too much of which might be quite disastrous to society. Individuals might all be keen with their own interests that social interests would be left behind or even sacrificed. It does not mean that individuals should not seek their individualities, but that they should find a balance between individual interests and social interests. If every individual seeks his or her interest, then no one will benefit a little. So instead of trying to make quibbles of others, individuals should form a sense of obeying laws and conventions to get along with others. Until then, can society be actually peaceful and stable.

Furthermore, when it comes to research, the importance of conforming to authority or conventional theories is quite obvious. Individuals who neglect or deny the classic theories developed by Newton in mechanics can never understand or analyze even the simple motion of things. Similarly, individuals will not get a scientific and systematic picture of the evolution of life without the foundation of Darwin's theory. People who question authority will have to make suppositions at every step, then their limited time and energy may be wasted on the meaningless research on which our predecessors have already concluded sounded theories. In this sense, the development of our society will stand and the diversity of life can never be created.

On the other hand, it does not mean that we cannot question authority. Instead, being critical with the existent theory may lead to amazing miracles. It is Galileo's scepticism with Aristotle's claim that things of different weight precipitate at different speeds that accelerates the discovery of the gravity. And that Faraday's betrayal from the convention of thinking brings into the age of electricity. Almost every achievement begins with the spirit of scepticism, while without which the progress of science and technology or even society may come into stagnancy. Particularly in the era of advanced technology and sophisticated skills, individuals will achieve little if just obeying the convention. Only when we are sceptical with authority, can we step into the process of inquring the unknown with our curiosity and creativity. In short, new accomplishment of social progress calls for scepticism with the present state and individual's creativity.

In conclusion, the healthy development of society calls for a balance of scepticism and observance with authority. Without scepticism, the developing process will just stop. Without observance with authority, social conditions will come into confusion. So we should place tantamount attention on both sides instead of partially emphasizing the importance of scepticism.

写的还是不错的！语言上已经很不错了，基本没什么问题。但是，你的文章丝毫没有涉及到题目中的WELL-BEING。虽然你的文章里可以看出总的是和WELL-BEING有关的，但是也不能一句都不提吧。改一改，不用花很多笔墨的。注意吧它和WELL-BEING联系起来的时候，要给WELL-BEING 下个定义，到底指物质层面还是精神层面。由此结论也不同。
