11 "All nations should help support the development of a global university designed to engage students in the process of solving the world's most persistent social problems.

The speaker claims that a global university should be erected to help students to engage in solving the most persistent social problems of the world. I strongly agree with it, because this project will benefit us much and thus is worth devoting, though there are still some difficulties.

First of all, the university, which is supported by all nations together, will combine the talents and material sources of various countries to end the most perplexing trouble. Take the environment for example. Every country has been aware of the serious consequences of pollution, but they committed little contribution to really solve this problem. The developed countries transferred their main sources of pollution, various factories which drain out a great deal of wasted air and water, to foreign developing countries as the "proper" method, whereas the developing countries have to endure the pollution for having not the ability to solve it. How absurd the solution looks. All human own a common earth and are exposed within the same atmosphere. Unless the pollution is controlled, every nation wouldn't flee away from the revenge of nature. If there have been an international university that assemble experts to research on the pollution and search for the correct way, the pollution would not have been as serious as nowadays.

In addition, congregating the excellent students and professors of the world, the university will intensify the communication and acknowledge among nations, and benefit solving some social questions as a result, because many conflict in the world just resulted from the misunderstanding for different cultures. For example, racial discrimination, between two persons who come from different cultural backgrounds, from its first emergence, has never disappeared: a Germany to a Jew, a white American to a black American. They often regard the other as inferior, stupid or savage, but it is not the case at all. Different colors, different manners don't mean that they should receive different treats. The construction of global university will help to diminish the misunderstanding. Students living in a common community can communicate freely with each other; educated professor can teach them the similar and different characters among people, and how to treat properly the difference of others. Shortly after, students will find that people who come from different nations share the same characters with themselves, such as admiring probity, respecting others if they get respect in return, hating the criminal, and being clever, and also others are not too inferior to endure. More and more graduates will bring the good manner the every corner of the world and thus the day when all nations harmoniously lived together can be expected.

Admittedly, there are much trouble during the process and it will cost much. The location must be an area where students and teachers would not be attacked. The proportion of students must be based on the equality, not the patronization that can be provided by certain country. The teachers must be ones who have prejudices as less as possible. All these are not easy to solve, however, contrasted with the benefit that the global university can lead to, the troubles are not so serious.  

In sum, during the course of globalization, all nations should support to erect a global university to help human to solve the social problems for its benefits discussed above.
